If you could fix this bug it would be appreiate pos ::)

I had emailed you several times with some suggestions for getting past this point in the game. Did changing to a lower quality setting not work? I can't really do much in the way of patching the game to fix this as it's just the biggest scene in the game and for some reason your computer is running out of memory while loading it, which is why I suggest running it at a lower quality option as that will reduce the amount of memory scenes need to load.

I tried, same thing...

Hi!

I have the same problem. Cognition freezes after the antique shop  on the way to the office.... I bought a season pass at gamers gate on dec 31th.  I tried setting the graphics to the lowest quality and not moving the pointer but it´s still freezing... :(

Can you email me your most recent save to weldon at postudios dot com and I'll get that fixed for you? Thanks!

I will demand a refund I think, you must fix this, that's normal to do that for your customers...

It'd be great if you could email us via support at postudios dot com and we can discuss it further there. Thanks!

I replied to your email with an updated save so you should be good to go now.

Same crash problem here. Can you please send me the save file that seems to help others? I have tried everything, but I just can't get to the FBI office after the antique shop. This is very annoying.

Is the game full on crashing and closing when this happens, or is it just staying in "busy" mode after you finish at the antique shop?

The screen stays totally black, no "spinning wheel" (busy mode?) but the game cursor is visible. There is also an error message saying that a crash file has been created. I have to close the game by using Task manager/End task. The problem starts after clicking the FBI office on the map.

Send me your most recent save before that gets hung up to weldon@postudios.com, and also if you could run dxdiag on your computer and send me the saved results from that, that would be great.

I must have clicked past this thread dozens of times, but this last time it was listed very near to the "Bad driving thread", and my brain suddenly went "Oh no!" ::)

Hi I am having the same problem with a crash to desktop when trying to load the office after antique shop.  I have the desura version bought from indie royale.  Should i email you my sav file and dxdiag?

Hope you can help because I think I'm going to love this game if it doesnt crash.

Thanks

KatieHal

Hi smorgasbord--yeah, I'd say send in the save & dxdiag, and hopefully we can get you going again. :)

(also, welcome to the boards!)

Yes, I'm resurrecting this thread (lol), b/c basically it's the same problem others have described. But mine crash instance happens in the first ep.

I'm at the part where I'm in the interrogation room w/ Robert trying to get him to recall the details of the last time he saw his wife alive (while trying to do this w/ the memory regression skill). I want to get him to a point of remembering the date and time--so I figured I'd try to go back to the office, so I can get back to Erica's computer so I can access the case file (as I think I remember seeing something on his last business trip he took right around the time she was found dead). But every single time I try to go back to Main Office the game force closes/crashes on me (I don't even get so much as warning or error--it just does it....). Ironically enough, I can go just about any other location: post office, that crime scene, morgue, the flipping cementary, and anywhere else available and it DOESN'T CRASH.....but by god, if I decide to click 'Main Office'.....*poof* insta-close.  >:(

It's absolutely maddening as I know my computer is up-to-date and well over capable to run this. I've even run the DXDIAG thing and to no avail--as it didn't give me anything in their to let me know it was computer related issue. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still won't cooperate (I even tried eariler save points I did but even trying to go back to the office in those instances still crashes the game).

I don't know what else to do, but at this point I can't even go any further and even if I did get past the memory regression part w/ Robert I'm scared that if I did have to go back to the office for anything that it would STILL crash on me.  :stars:

Is there some sort of replacement file or something that can be obtained to fix this?? Please, I was having so much fun.....

Can you save and email me the results of running dxdiag on your system? It isn't really meant to show any "problems" with the system, but rather provides general data about driver versions, hardware specs, etc.

Sure wilco, thanks for the prompt response! I've attached it. :)

Try visiting your video card maker's site, they have newer video drivers than what you currently have installed. If that doesn't help, get the game to crash again and then from wherever you have it installed, there's a "_Data" folder that will have an output log file, send me that one and let me see if I can figure out what's going bad over there.
