Hmm... I was torn as to weather to post this here or in the general section.
Anyways, I keep wondering if kq9's going to have multipke endings or not, of course the only kq's with differnt endings were 6 and 7, but still. I for one am against it, it would make me feel pressured to download a walkthrough or some such thing as to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I'd much rather play through and feel satisfied that I did the right thing.

This is going to be an interesting thread.

KQ2 had multiple endings.

Personally, I love multiple endings, within reason. A game with a dozen or more endings is a bit much, but 3 or 4 different ones is cool. I tend to replay games I like regardless, but IMHO it's so much better when there's new stuff to discover when replaying it. Plus it makes any choices in the game feel more important, rather than making it obvious that the illusion of freedom is indeed just an illusion. (Intellectually I know it's always just an illusion, but I don't want it to be obvious while playing. :P )

At the very least, even if a game doesn't have more than one winning ending, also having a full losing ending or two can be intriguing. (Once you get far enough into the game to have more than just a death scene be appropriate, that is.)

Just as long as I dont have to go all the way back to the beginning because i forgot to pick something up or said the wrong thing.

Ugh, I hate dead-ends as well.  >:( That is definitely one thing I did not want happening in KQ9, and when proofreading the script, I ensured that it wasn't possible to miss some important object and never be able to recover it.  :)
