Pacific Rim trailer

I came across this on the Internets today, the trailer for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim:

To me, it looks like Robot Jox with a dash of Power Rangers, wielding a Power Glove, taking on Cthulhu/Leviathan, in the tradition of Independence Day. Plus the voice of GladOS from Portal. And trying to do waaay too much!

The first chunk looked good to me, then the giant robots happened. I dunno, I guess giant robots just don't do it for me--but I do think this movie looks like it'll be rife with hilarity, intentional or otherwise!

honestly, it just looked like Godzilla vs. Giant Robot Mechs to me. I'm torn on whether or not I want to see it. Hearing GladOS though was great! All I could think of was adding "For science, you monster" to the end of everything she said
