Well, I can finally play Maniac Mansion! LucasFan Games have done a 256 VGA remake, so I figured, hey that's an adventure game, I'll go post about it!

It's located here: http://people.freenet.de/lucasfangames/maniac/index_eng.htm
For anyone else interested. Weee! I get to play it at LAST!  ;D

It's pretty cool.  Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'm doing so I keep losing.

WAH! :'(

J-R: If you mean you keep getting tossed in the dungeon, that's OK, it's easy to get out again. In fact, at a few points, you'll even want to get tossed in the dungeon. If you need clues on that, just tell me. :)

It is possible to die in the game, but it's usually pretty obvious that you're about to do something lethal. (Well, in the original, anyway.)

Well, there's an online cheat walkthrough thingie on that LucasFan site. :D

And the first time I died was to play that mating call demo tape to the tentacle.  Very erotic, but very deadly. :D

I've died by blowing up the house a couple of times already. ;) But I'm doing okay, all things considered. It seems to be a pretty good remake to me, though I did never play the original.

BTW, jeysie, I played and finished Beneath a Steel Sky this past week! Not bad at all, I enjoyed the game! :) Interesting plot twists.... though Robert seemed very at-home and knowledgeable about the city, for someone who grew up in the wilderness....  ::) I was also curious how he got such metropolitan clothing out there, as everyone else in the tribe was shown to be wearing much more 'rustic' clothing. But overall, a good game!

Katie: Yeah, BASS did have some weirdnesses that would keep me from labelling it as a "great" game... you can add on the fact that nobody seemed very suspicious about all the questions Foster was asking (even "disguised" as a "routine inspector"), among a few other things.

But I'd still consider it a good game, and you can't go wrong now that it's free. ;) The "inside LINC" part was especially inspired, I think. (It's even more fun now that I can finally play with sound working... the acting is a bit off in some places, but for the most part all the accents are a blast.)

I've download BASS for Mac in recent memory but I haven't had time to look at it... I guess I should...  !!!

The voices are overall pretty good, but yeah...that was odd, no one seemed concerned! It's like, okay, we're looking for this guy we think is a saboteur! All elevators and exits to this level are closed!

...and no one even kind of suspects the guy they've NEVER seen before?!? Ummmm...yeah, right. Whatever! haha.

But a good time, at the least. I especially like Joey!
