We have 5 desktop computers in this house, and one laptop. I've got two desktops and a laptop (from work), my brother's got one desktop, my dad& mom have got a desktop, and then there's the file& internet server, also a desktop. Also, to broaden the subject, we've got 4 tv's, one for each, 6 vcr's, a camcorder and a digital (photo-)camera, so we've got more electrical hardware than you Rob. 8)

Hmm. CC definitely has my house beat too, although he has more people to contribute. ;)

Between Harrison and I, we have:

3 TVs
3 desktop computers
4 VCRs
1 DVD player
2 stereos
1 Nintendo
1 Super Nintendo
1 Nintendo 64
1 Playstation
1 Sega Genesis
1 digital camera
2 electric guitars ;)
A crapload of video and PC games

Everytime people come to our house, they just sort of stare in awe. ;) Honestly, though... we have so much just because Harrison and I brought all our crap with us when we moved in together... the N64, digital camera, DVD player, and some games are the only things we've bought "together". (And we actually didn't even buy the N64... I won it in a contest. 8) )

Peace & Luv, Liz

Well, if I started naming everything we had in this house, well, it would sound like bragging.  Let's just say that we DON'T have Jeysie beat, but if Christine's boyfriend keeps selling us some of his stuff...we'd be right behind her!

Ok in my house there are:

5 TVs (Two are mine and one is my sisters)
2 Desktop Computers
3 VCRs (one is completely stuffed up)
1 DVD Player (mine)
2 Stereos (1 is mine)
1 Nintendo (mine)
1 Super Nintendo (mine)
2 Nintendo 64 (1 is mine and the other is my sisters)
1 Playstation 2
1 Digital Camera with Webcam
Never ending amount of PC/Console games

The VCR that is broken was broken when we bought it and the company wouldnt replace or fix it, and even when we got it fixed it still wouldnt work :-\

One of My TVs is 16 years old and my Dad gave it to me when i begged for it ;D, cos he was taking everything when my mum and he divorced, imagine life without TV :-\, i had to get it off of him ;), lol

I bought a second N64 because my sister wouldnt share the one we got for Christmas >:(

Well, way back when, my dad had his TRS-80 Color Computer 2 and my Commodore 128/64 hooked up to a TV, but somehow I doubt that's what you meant. XD

You can hook your PC into your TV? :o  I had NO clue! (and no, I'm not being sarcastic there!)

Back in ye olde days of desktop computing, I'd be willing to guess that hooking up to a TV was fairly common, because IIRC a small TV cost a lot less than a monitor. :P Also IIRC, I think hooking up to a TV was done in close to the same way you'd hook up a VCR or a video game console to a TV, but it's been a long time, so don't quote me on that. :P (Unless I am remembering right, in which case, quote me all you want. ;) )

Nowadays, though, you need a special converter thingy, not to mention I think you also need special software. And since a TV is low-res (like, around 640x400 res... I forget the exact measurements), I've heard it's not really that great unless you use your PC for movies a lot or you want bragging rights. Of course, that's all hearsay... I could be wrong. :P

I have an old color computer around here, somewhere... but that's not what I meant.

I use a Nvidia GPU to hook it up to my TV(even though I haven't got the cord I need anymore).

I use anti-aliasing, so it looks better(but yeah, very low res). I also can watch DVDs on it(or did). It's very helpful if you want to know how a VCD will look on a TV screen, before burning it. It's fine for low res games(Atari/NES/PSX emulators). I also plan on trying some Xbox and PS2 games, after they get the emulators working well enough.

P.S. I own the games, so the Atari/NES ROMs are legal.

Oldbushie

I might get a TV tuner and just watch TV on my computer... could come in very handy! ;)

As long as you've got a video card with (a) TV-out you don't need any converting thing.

Before we had a DVD-recorder, we connected the pc to the tv too to watch DVD's.
