I wish more games supported the pro controller, because the tablet controller only has like 3 hours or battery life and it can get tiresome to play on it for extended periods of time.

It is sort of where I seriously fault Nintendo is they never think of long term ergonomics.

The Wii was the worst in this respect because the Wiimote was a terrible controller even at the games it was made for.

Yet many of their games never give you the option to use anything better. Want to navigate the menu? you better be using the motion controls because they don't let you use any of the buttons.

I think that's the point.  We were playing NSMB, and about every hour, there was a message suggesting we take a break.

I think it's more that there's just so much technology crammed in to the tablet, that they really can't get a lot of battery life out of it. I mean, there are a couple core games on the system, and the core gamers (like myself) don't like short battery life on a controller. I often times get sucked into my games for 9 hours at a time. I played Assassin's Creed 3 for 14 hours straight when it came out; having a controller with only 3 hours of battery life isn't really good for long sessions of gaming. That kind of battery life works for a casual game fairly well, but not for a core game like Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty. Apparently, Batman Arkham City Armored Edition doesn't even support the pro controller, so I can only play it for 3 hours at a time, which is something I'm not too pleased by.

Holy crap - playing a game for 14 hours?  Man... if I only had that kind of time to play a game!!!

Most of the time I find that I'm sitting close enough to an outlet to just plug in the controller for a bit if needed. It's a pretty long cord.

I remember staying up until 3 AM playing Diablo 2 with friends.  Now I have to get up in the morning.

God, I feel old.

To accomplish such a feat, I actually took an unpaid vacation from both of my jobs. Assassins Creed is one of those games where I have to devote my entire time to; I can't just play it here and there; I have to sit in front of the TV and play that bad boy like there's no tomorrow. I even told my managers that if they schedule me I'm doing a no-call-no-show, so they better spare themselves the trouble. I usually don't have the time to play a game for longer than 5 hours at a time because of my jobs.

Assassin's creed 3 is phenomenal.  Thank god I upgraded to a 6 core with 8 gig of ram.  the environments are huge, and I agree that you can play it for hours, and easily lose track of time.

See, that wouldn't even do it for me. Even without work, there are two little kids to be watched. The only time I have available is the ~1 hour van pool ride to and from work, but I've been spending that working on Infiltrator. :) I did take some time off to play through Final Fantasy 1 on my phone, though. It's the first time I've played any FF game.

Yeah, I can't TAKE an unpaid vacation just to play some video games!  Too many responsibilities, bills, etc... it's what happens when you're old!  Honestly, it's not so bad - I just have a much more well-rounded life than I did when I was younger, and to tell you the truth - I like it better now.  Playing a video game for hours on end seems exhausting now!  Working on one for hours IS exhausting!

Yeah I will say the only time I was able to play my Wii U for any kind of extended time was when we went to my mom's house for Thanksgiving and I took it with me. Other than that I'm lucky if I spend maybe an hour here or there playing anything at all.

I would be in SO MUCH trouble with my wife if I did that! She doesn't like me to be anti-social (which she would consider that to be). She's not really a fan of gaming. :(

Well we were up there for four days, so it wasn't just that one day. I just played for a while at night after everybody else went to sleep.

You already posted that... is something weird around here?
