Will Disney ever enter another "Renaissance" Period?

Do you think, within the next ten years or so, Disney's Animated Features will ever hit another "Renaissance" Period, akin to the 'Disney Renaissance' which stretched from 1989-1999? Also, do you think 2D Animated Films will ever have any kind of resurgence?

In terms of needing to go through a full Renaissance, I don't quite think so.  At the time of the original, Disney really needed something to get back on track to be successful again.  Right now, the company is doing pretty well and most folks count Pixar success as Disney success too.

As for a Renaissance in terms of having a stream of quality hits?  I think this period could be starting right now.  The 2000s were not all that great for Disney (non-Pixar) animation, save for success with Lilo & Stitch, I think.  With Tangled and Wreck-it Ralph, those two films have done very well.  If Frozen works out too, then I'd be more convinced of that though.

As for 2-D animation...I sadly don't see anything in the works to suggest we're getting any US company 2-D films in the near future.  It's a shame, really.  I do prefer it to computer animation style wise.

3D animation has gotten to the point where it's as solid as 2D was at its height, honestly. Look at the recent 3D animated movies and they're pretty amazing to look at, honestly.

2D is, at this point, going to turn into a niche stylistic thing. (IMO)

And also, I don't think Disney needs another Renaissance--it's doing great right now, honestly, putting out good stuff and in another upswing, especially since Pixar is part of Disney again, and they just acquired Star Wars.

To be entirely honest, I've given up on Disney. I know financially they're doing great and stuff, but they're a far cry from the company I know and love from my childhood. Part of my bitterness towards them stems from their half-assed DVD releases from their tv shows. I'll save my rant on that for another more appropriate thread, but suffice it to say that Disney is basically dead to me on the television front. On that note, their recent 3D films have been fantastic, with both Tangled and Wreck it Ralph ranking as two of my favorite movies. While I'd like for them to make more 2D movies, it seems like the real money here is in the 3D world, so I don't see disney doing too many more 2D films. I think they'll do a couple more, but eventually they'll shift almost exclusively to 3D movies. As long as they can keep the quality up, I don't have too much of a problem with that.

Oh they do, but I still have a preference for the 2-D style.  I just like the painted look of the scenes.

Here, yes.  I still think we'll see 2-D anime stuff though.

As a company, Disney has been doing well for awhile.  But their own animation department hadn't fared too well in the 2000s.  Pixar was doing great, but not the Disney studio movies.  I think things are doing better for them though.
