...and I thought the prophecy was about Connor becoming ruler of the world  ;-D

I think probably the reason that your future self is trying to kill you, Bushie, is because you went forward in time to stop him from coming to the past.  So, as revenge, he came to the past BEFORE you went to the future, to kill you so that you wouldn't stop him from coming to the past!!
