Vampires can't cannibalistic because vampires are no longer human. Cannibalism is the act of eating the flesh of your own species. Vampires used to be human, but they're not anymore -- so aside from not actually eating flesh, it's not cannibalism because they're not human.

....unless that's something else Twilight changed about them.... -_-

A Mormon would never advocate two people of different species marrying and having children, so presumably they are still human. :P

Well, there ARE many different types of vampires, and we can't let Twilight shadow our perception of them forever. One of the few consistant things about vampires is that they're all monsters who don't belong in this world. :P (Oh, and they all have OCD.)

No, even the Twilight vamps are pretty clearly NOT human. And most importantly, they got married before doing the deed, Deloria, don't forget that's the MOST important part!

If a vamp drank from another vamp...I guess that'd be a kind of cannibalism. Though the TVs/movies where I've seen that happen have it varying from tasting gross to them, being harmful, being useless, being a turn-on, being a stop-gap but not really all that nourishing... it varies!

QuoteAnswer:
Sorry guys, there is no scientific proof of the existence of Vampires or Vampyrs.

They are creatures of myth and legend, sprung from human fears and misconceptions of the physiology of death in the middle ages, popularised by fiction, movies, television and some very active imaginations.

A vampire is a dead human kept animate by 'that something special' that enables him to be a vampire.

I have italicized, bolded and highlighted the pertinent text.   Though that third sentence features the use of "that something special" which I find hilarious.

There is a film called "Back to the USSR - Takaisin Ryssiin" that tells the story of a lonely village communist who gets vampire Lenin as his lodger.

And hilarity ensues.

hey guys, let's get back to the movie, shall we? I think this is veering just a little off-topic.

Maybe a supernatural beings thread is in order.  ;)

Anyway...as for this movie...it does looks like it could be fun.  Unlike Twilight, it doesn't seem to take itself serious (at least from the promo).  I dunno if I'd see it in the theaters, but maybe rent it.

I'm not really a zombie movie fan, but if it's somewhat humorous (like Zombieland) I can enjoy that.

Zombieland was SO much fun!

It was.  Okay, that settles it, it before I get way off topic, I'm starting the supernatural beings thread.  :)

So, the vampires in White Wolf actually do this. (I just learned this!) It's not called "cannibalism" (they're not eating flesh), it's called diablerie and it is considered just as messed up by vampires as cannibalism is by humans but it gives the vampire who does it the strength of the vampire they ate on top of their own so I guess it has its perks. I mean, you wouldn't have any vampire friends but on the other hand you could probably kill anyone who decided to bring it up.

In Being Human (US) they've mentioned it, it's not treated at all like cannibalism but most vampires don't do it because they don't get any nutrients from drinking the blood of the undead.

....I've been doing research on this sort of stuff for some stuff I'm writing... can you tell? :P

A bit. :)

To go back to the original topic, I saw Warm Bodies last weekend, it was pretty cute :) Fun movie, not perfect, but I enjoyed it. Good matinee-price movie, or just wait for DVD.
