Oh man, the memories...

I remember one part from KQ4 that I guess, objectively speaking, can't really count, but as a subjective memory it's one of my fondest ever. It was me and a mate of mine, both aged approximately 8 or so, playing my mate's older brother's copy of said game. I remember we - obviously - found it kinda hard, but the crowning moment that I still remember to this day is when we tried to use Cupid's bow on the unicorn, and we sat there with our limited grasp of the English language - non-native speakers both of us - and tried to "shot horse", and were completely confounded when it didn't work. Good times. When I got a little older and eventually progressed further in the game, I was completely mind-blown by the fact that night had fallen, and by the zombies walking around on the graveyard, plus solving the puzzles for the ghosts/zombies inside the house.

KQ5 is probably my favourite of the series, even though it's really hard for me to pinpoint why exactly. I guess I just found the graphics and visuals stunning at the time, and it had a really immersive effect on me. Especially when you got into the mountains, s*** got real - as some famous philosophers have put it.

I never got far in KQ6, partly because I bought a copy of the game that was bugged to hell and didn't include the manual that was needed to progress beyond one of the puzzles. And back in those pre-internet days I basically had to rely on gaming magazines to help me with puzzles if I got stuck. But I remember enjoying the visuals and the puzzles as far as I got, even if I can't exactly say it's my favourite on the list. And it shames me to say that I never tried playing it since, even if you can assumably get working versions of the game to this day. (?) Maybe I should look into that...

KQ7 was also happy times for me. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but for me it was visually stunning and I loved the graveyard zone. It had atmosphere - even if it was slightly campy - and I remember really liking the soundscape/musical cues there. And it was kinda cool how the two protagonists eventually got to the same areas. Ah, the things that I sometimes get/got impressed by...
It's hard enough to remember my opinions, without remembering my reasons for 'em.

Let's see....

KQ1, I love siccing the goat on the troll.
KQ2, I loved Count Dracula's spooky castle, and the whole posing as Count Dracula thing.
KQ2+, I loved the Cloud Tests.
KQ3, I loved revisiting Cloudland from KQ1.
KQ3 Redux, I loved revisiting Cloudland from KQ1.
KQ3 VGA, I loved the intro... it makes so much more sense than the original version of Alexander's kidnapping.
KQ4, I loved freeing/returning the treasures at the end, undoing the evil things you'd done, y'know?
KQ5, I loved killing the yeti with a pie. XD
KQ6, I loved everything but I loved the Isle of Wonder most.
KQ7, I loved the way you were like "ships passing in the night", visiting the same places but at different times.

And, even though I don't consider it a KQ, in MOE, I loved the entire Swamp level.
