Disney Infinity Announced

As I'm sure many of you have probably heard by now, Disney has announced it's own version of Skylanders, called Disney Infinity. Like Skylanders, the player will have action figures that, when placed on a PlaySet, become playable characters in a sandbox style video game. The idea apparently came from the Toy Box mode in Toy Story 3: The Game (I'll have to give that a shot at some point, actually). Initially, the game will come bundled with 3 figures: Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles, Sully from Monsters University, and Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Other characters will be released following the game's release in June. Additionally, the game also utilizes Power Discs. When placed under characters on the Play Set, they'll be awarded in game items of buffs.

What does everyone think? Do you think Disney can actually rival or even surpass Skylanders, or will this be a failure?
