episode 4

okay, I started ep 4 okay. but then after finishing up with the maze and the beast, etc. and going to a different island, the background of the map got all white and could not see anything. I also noted at one point once the gem and the horn got together, the princess was also all white/greyish. was wondering if this is a bug in level 4. I downloaded the ep. 1-4 and all was well until 3 and 4. I am worried about going back to my save and having that done all over again. what is going on? I don't have a screen saver/anti virus thing in the background and im not tabbing into windows items(i.e. items on my desktop).

I am worried that will con't to happen. when I played ep 3, I couldn't get the end cut scene to finish up.

I haven't ever had anybody run into anything like this in Episode 4 previously. It may be that your computer just needs a rest and reboot, or a video driver update as it sounds like the video processor is glitching a bit. If that doesn't help, could you send me the results of running DXDIAG on your computer and I'll see if there's anything in there that stands out? Thanks!

It might be overheating RAM... I once had a RAM stick go bad and I was losing video game textures. But yeah, overheating and/or old drivers might be the cause.

well its very strange since other games I have played don't do that, and they are pretty current. I played cognition and it worked just fine.

What is the DX diagnostic? I assume its direct X? how would I go about doing that?

Game just crashed. again. did see some choppiness in the video cut scenes. sigh. one time the game just shut down w/o any warning and I had to reboot. not liking this AT ALL.

Go to your start menu, choose Run, type dxdiag and press enter. Failing that, launch the command prompt somehow and type the dxdiag command in there.

Also, which version of Windows are you running?
