There was a massive discussion in the Music forum about KQ6 being one of the best KQ soundtracks.  So let's ask it officially, which is your favourite?  :)

Gabriel Knight 3 had awesome music! :) Too bad the extractable files are so hard to sort through, maybe I'll just extract all of them someday. :P I really want to music in mp3s. :)

Syberia II has great music as well, sadly there is no straightforward way to get it as it is embedded in the game files and the soundtrack is not sold in stores. :'( It's not a Sierra game but it does have really great music. :)

Hee. Well, if KQ6 had actually been an option, I would have voted for it. ;) But since GK1 is a very close contender, I went for that instead of "other".

I really loved the music in Gabriel Knight 3.  That and Kings Quest 4, which, although lacking in real instruments, just kind of sticks with me.   (Although I have played both of those more recently than King's Quest 6)

-p.s. Let's not forget the theme to Leisure Suit Larry :) hehe

None of those really resounded with me. SQ6 just kept crashing so I never really got to listen to the soundtrack.  Then again that was about the time that "took a break" from playing games... I'm back now. I guess I'll have to give the candidates a listen...  :)

KQ6  :) Although my mum doesn't like the main song "Girl in the Tower"...so I put the volume up whenever I play it  XB I like KQ4's soundtrack too  :D

Jeysie

Heh. I think "Girl in the Tower" was the only part of the KQ6 soundtrack I didn't like. ;P

I liked the PC-Speaker version of it, or at least the first few stanzas (sp?).  XD

Hee! Well, the instrumental of the song was nice, I just thought the lyrics were too cheesy. They just were trying too hard, IMHO.

OH!  Hahah, yeah I found the lyrics too cheesy too.  ;P

I voted GK 1. A theme in there was just really great, one of those that sticks in your head for a good while. Hmmm I wonder if Xp likes GK, haven't played it for yonkey donkey years...

EDIT: oh yay heres a page with lots of GK midis on, the one i was talking about is the Book shop theme. It's just filled with so much emotion and mmm its just nice!

I've always liked Conquests of the Longbow.  Sometimes I open a saved game at the very end just to listen to the closing credits.

Hee! I do have criticisms I could make of the game, but they're more than compensated by the good bits. ;)
