It's time we settle this. We need to decide which console is the best now!

Big C from Cauney island

All this talk, and no mention of the commodore 64? Someone had mentioned a 386. That was fast. I had the 286. When I read my old PC game requirements from the 80s and 90s, the system requirements seem so small.

I'm afraid the Commodore 64 was never THAT big in Europe, instead we had the ZX spectrum :P

Yeah. Some of the Sierra games required an 8 MHz processor, and my 8088 could only do 7-something. When I got an 8 MHz 286, it was a huge improvement!

I never played Earthbound so I can't comment on it. But the other two are Fine choices:D

How are you liking Phantasy star 1 BTW?

You really should play Earthbound.  It's got a really good sense of humor.

I like Phantasy Star 1 so far.  I tend to get lost trying to find the next dungeon, but that helps in level grinding.  It reminds me of Dragon Quest.  I also like the fact the main character is a girl and the futuristic setting.
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

stika

Phantasy Star 1 and 4 are my favorites.

I love the first person dungeons, because it gets me to draw maps :P

LadyTerra

Me too!  Have you played any of the Etrian Odyssey games?  Drawing maps in a first person dungeon is the meat of the game!

Alas, I don't have a DS or a 3DS :(
