The start screen acts like it's to big. The picture is there, name, king, large teeth but there is nothing to click on, the mouse arrow moves fine. I have changed the settings of my TV and there are no changes. My big screen TV is my monitor if that matters.
Thanks,

Name, king, large teeth? On the startup screen for Cognition? I'm a bit confused about the problem you're describing here, though in general it sounds like it may just be a resolution problem. Try changing the game's settings to run in a lower resolution or in a window instead of fullscreen before starting it up.

Sorry wrong game I wanted The Silver Lining. I will re-post, but my problem stays the same. The start up picture has the name of the game a guy with a hood and large teeth and a picture of the king in his green hat. There is nothing else, like a start button or anything to advance to the the next screen. Changing the resolution does nothing.

It may be that the engine can't recognize the resolution your tv is trying to run at. We've had people encounter this issue before but they were always able to get it running in a window instead. When you make changes in the game's configuration utility, if you go back into the configuration did it save the changes you made?

The only option I get for window is a box for full screen which is not checked. I have tried changing from the desk top properties for compatibility and from the TSL files options and have saved the settings. Is there an optimal setting that can be used for this?

I am running Windows 7.

Does the browser matter? I am using Google Chrome.

Can you give me a couple examples of the resolution options it has for you in that dropdown?

I thought I'd finally found a kindred spirit. I could never get past the start screen with The Longest Journey. No one else seemed to understand. :( There was just too much talking... the words, they never ended... they haunt me... ceaselessly... there were just too many options...

And then I got here and I was wrong.

There are like 15 different resolution choices in the game fire set-up. I have tried all of them.

If everything else is working ok for you then it sounds like the engine and the tv just can't communicate properly. I've read that this is an occasional problem with stuff made in Torque when played using tv's instead of standard monitors. Aside from the usual of changing the game's resolution and the computer's resolution or updating video drivers, there doesn't seem to be any solution other than hooking into a normal monitor. Sorry.

Thanks for trying I will break out my laptop and give it a try on that.

What cable were you using to connect to the TV, by the way? If it was an analog (blue) cable, that might have been part of the problem. DVI or HDMI cables are a bit better for hooking up a computer to a TV.

Very odd... I don't know then. From the sound of it this is your only "monitor" as well, otherwise I would guess it's an issue with whatever you have Multiple Displays set to. Maybe Torque just doesn't handle TVs very well.
