The cancellation of Sam and Max: Freelance Police.

It still saddens me that there are people who would callously do something like this without remorse.  To this day, I still would like to see that game rise from the ashes.

However, LucasArts is now in the hands of Disney, who I assume MIGHT be more open about the game.  I mean, think about it... Steve Purcell, the creator of Sam and Max, works for Pixar.  Also, Sam is voiced by Bill Farmer, a famous Disney voice actor!

What are your thoughts on this?

Hey Bad Asp, nice to see you're back :)

I think that despite the terrible tragedy the Sam and Max legacy will live on!

ALL HAIL TELLTALE!

It's hard when business and art collide.  Sam and Max were an unfortunate victim of that.

I actually agree with you about the Telltale voice actors (and Telltale's Sam & Max games in general) not holding a candle to Hit the Road, but we already KNOW for a fact that many of the plot ideas of Freelance Police made it into Telltale's first Sam & Max season.  So even if someone ended up putting out a Sam & Max: Freelance Police game, it'd still be vastly different from the original gameplan simply by virtue of the fact that they'd need to come up with some new ideas to fill in the gaps of the ones that already got used.

But at least it's not as silly an idea as remaking King's Quest 8 to stay true to "Roberta's vision."   :suffer:

But wouldn't that mean the game would be better? Then again, I'm not sure exactly was her "original vision" so for all I know, it was horrible.

It's an in-joke, GR.  Don't worry about it.

If you wait around long enough, I'm sure someone will start a thread explaining it to you.  ;)

Idealists don't breed; they just think about it.

;)  I'm not that easy.

Besides, TSL would need more combat to keep pace with the growing FPS market.

Well, she DOES like it!
Yes she does, in fact, I still have the quote:

"The game is very true to the original series and features many of the storylines and characters, especially of King's Quest VI. I found it beautiful and fun to play. I, too, like many other fans, would like to see how this story unfolds."

Cedric is the final boss.  Kill him once and he transforms into MECHA-CEDRIC.

Okay, now that we've talked about some King's Quest games of the early 90's, let's talk about Freelance Police some more... if that's okay.

What's there to talk about?  It's a 10 year old dead game whose plot ideas were recycled into a more recent game but with worse voice actors.
