I realized while reading it could be either Bambi or The Lion King. :) I think the only thing setting them apart is the female friend being more graceful than he is--in Lion King, she's a little more of a badass than him instead ;)

Katie, then you're just the badass for figuring it out. :) I think you're the first person who's ever heard/read it, who has.

Still, maybe I can rephrase that line so that it fits both movies better. Maybe graceful isn't the perfect description there. I'll think on it.
In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

The third gift was intelligence, of course.  Which she absolutely lacked during the entirety of the film.

I was going to say "personality" on similar grounds. :P

I thought of that but what use does a princess have with intelligence?

She cannot rule, she cannot hold council, and she has no say in any decision.

True. Her parents are still alive, as are Philip's I assume. So, until (or if) she becomes Queen, she has no need for that.

She'd have the pride of wisdom and knowledge.  Intelligence is its own reward.

Not really. Wisdom is culturally constructed as being different from intelligence. Wisdom deals more with discernment, decision making, etc. Intelligence with general knowledge, learning, etc.

EDIT: though with that said, WIS is often a dump stat and INT has more uses across builds, especially if your character is skill heavy.

Oooh!  I know!  Military prestige and tactical knowledge to finally once and for all defeat the blasted French!

That's what you get for saying I can't make Bouliabase!
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

I just remember playing Planescape: Torment and weighing up whether I should become wiser or more intelligent. :P I think one allowed me to be a better spellcaster, while the other allowed me to have more interesting conversations... XD

Merryweather: "To you I give the ability to defy gender stereotypes!"
Malefacent: "Not so fast, I cannot allow this!"

And thus we got another damsel movie. ;)

Who knows.  It could have gotten interesting, and she could have been given the gift of flight.

"Ah.  Look at that.  Flyin' Princess."

"Yurp."

"Let's go kill some frogs."

"Yurp."
