I know what you mean, seems a lot of times they're just going for shock value

You could cancel both Futurama and Family Guy as far as I care.  Time to let 'em rest.  Let's move on to something new.

Yeah, we need to wait 20 years until all TV shows are in 3D and more action oriented, and then bring them back via small independent studios funded by Kickstarter.

I see Lambonius is trying to give me a heart attack :-[

Never watched this, but I heard it was good.

In other Matt Groening news, The Simpsons has been confirmed for Season 25.

I don't know anyone who really watches it anymore. Maybe Matt Groening is paying off the people who decide the scheduling at Fox.  :suffer:

I think Futurama has run out of ideas and then some. Not that I don't like the newer episodes though. I've read that the series finale is going to be very interesting (won't spoil) and should be a great sendoff so I'm looking forward to it.

GoT's going on right now and Venture Bros is coming back June 2 and Arrested Development is... sometime this month?  :sweetheart:

I actually like the newer episodes better than the original Fox run.

Futurama's first season aged kind of poorly if you ask me, watching it now, it feels like it's trying to tell us "Hey it's the 90's but at same time it isn't!"

Bludshot

It was getting kind of stale, it had a good run.

Futurama is not going anywhere.
Matt Groening said they are going to be doing more movies. :)

Neonivek

To be truthful... I found the seasons after it was revived to be, not very good.

Or at least not as good as the premovie seasons.

Including an Ipod episode that came out WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY after when it would have been topical.

Damar

Yeah, I never really got the appeal of Futurama.  It was ok, I guess, but nothing special.  Well, except the episode where they found the cast of Star Trek.  That was awesome.

Despite that, I think I'd agree with Blackthorne regardless.  Time passes and things must come to an end eventually.  Futurama had its chance, got a second one, and now they're done.  And it may be for the best because now they can take a break and every so often release one really good movie every so often.  Really put all their energy and creativity into that.  Or just stay gone.  You've still got reruns.  Nothing lasts forever.

In other news, screw Family Guy.  It's really not funny.  Randomness is not funny.  You just think it is because it's human nature to laugh when something doesn't make sense.  A default reaction is not actually humor.  As for the Simpsons.  Good god, just die already.  I don't know how they're still on.  As far as I know, they haven't been funny for well over a decade.  Then again I haven't watched recently so for all I know they've found their way again.  Ah, who am I kidding?  No they haven't.  Just go away.

Futurama has a lot of cool characters. I even think that the amount of characters that are really interesting and funny (Zoidberg, Bender, Farnsworth...) is much higher than the amount of interesting characters in, say, South Park where it's basically Cartman who is funny. However, it seemed to me pretty often that the writers don't really know what to do with those characters. So I always liked the characters but was never really enthusiastic about the plot of the episodes. With South Park it's somehow the other way round: Stan isn't such an awesome cartoo character, but that episode "Stanley's Cup" for example was just hilarious!  :suffer:

Don't get me wrong; I love Futurama - I think it's fun, zany, smart and hillarious.  I'm just of the opinion that things that their time and then they should end.  We often indulge too much in things, and let series, movies, etc. go on way longer than they should.

Look at "Spaced" starring Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson.  TWO SEASONS.  BAM.  DONE.

AWESOME.

Yeah true, shows to need to end *coughs*HowIMetYourMother*coughs*

But it's still sad when the show itself is still good unlike certain other shows *coughs*HowIMetYourMother*coughs*

Neonivek

What is odd is that "How I met your mother" reasonably should have ended.

We SAW how he met her mother and how they got together.

KatieHal

Well, the upcoming season will be the final season, they've already announced that. But yeah, should've wrapped it up a few seasons ago.

Yeah, How I Met Your Mother should have ended LONG ago.  It's gotten so lame - I'm sick of everyone's shenanigans on that show; there's been no character development in years.  Seriously - Ted was STILL pining over Robin a little this year?  LAZY WRITING.

Seriously! That was ridiculous. Didn't they wrap up a few seasons ago? When it was already past due?
