Bug in game after regression, iPad version

I have encountered a bug in the iPad version of the game after the regression episode, and after receiving the text.

I did searches on both Longmore and Amy Lewis, got the fingerprint, and attempted to print out the evidence form for the Amy Lewis case.  However, if I check the printer, it says, "the evidence form I printed out", but there is NO option to actually take the evidence form.

If I talk to John, then try to talk to  to Sully, it still tells me to check the computer for the Amy Lewis case.however, there is nothing else I can do in the computer about Amy Lewis, and therefore, I cannot continue the game.

I have tried to go back to the computer to print out the form again, and all the game says is "I already have what I need".

Hey David, mmm... that is strange, I'll see if I can get a hold of Weldon or Bushie and ask them about your issue.

I'm sorry you had an issue, I hope you won't let it deter you from enjoying your game

David1953

Thank you, stika, and hopefully, one of them will be able to figure out why I cannot pick up that evidence form.  I did send an email to technical support as well.

I cannot proceed any further, since I cannot leave the police station or talk to Sully until the game thinks that I have checked out the Amy Lewis case on the computer.  I have been enjoying the game up to now, with one other earlier issue that was eventually resolved, and I would really like to finish this episode.

Another thing I did was to reset my iPad to ensure that no other apps were running in the background, but that didn't help either.

I've emailed them and Katiehal (in the hopes that it may not be a bug).

Hopefully someone will answer soon :)

I played through and confirmed this is all working properly, lemme give you the detailed steps to see if possibly you've skipped over something:

1. Finished the regression puzzle with Robert and came back into the FBI Station.

2. Received a message on my phone about Amy Lewis.

3. Sat at Erica's computer and searched for Amy Lewis using the "People Search."

4. Also searched for Amy Lewis in the "Cases Database."

5. Looked up Antony Longmore in "People Search" and used the light gadget to download his fingerprints.

6. Logged out of Erica's computer and talked to John about "Other Cases" and then "Antony Longmore" after going through the other case theory stuff with him.

7. John suggested I take Sully, so I talked to him and left the station.

The thing that people sometimes miss here is they don't do both 3 and 4. There are two chunks of information on Amy Lewis in the system and both are important.

That is exactly what I did, and I DID search for Amy Lewis in  the two places you mentioned.  The people search gave a driver's license, which could not be printed, and the cases database gave a case report, with the option to print it.  I did so, and Erica said, " one evidence form coming up", but when I went to the printer to retrieve the report, the option to take it was NOT there.  Also, I retrieved Longmore's fingerprint as you said, no problem.

John did suggest that I take Sully, but if I try to talk to him, Erica says, "I need to check the computer about the Amy Lewis case".  This is all AFTER I have already done parts 3 and 4 above as you mentioned.

By the way, is it necessary to print out, and get, that evidence report for Amy Lewis?  That seems to be the sticking point for me, the fact that the report is not available for pickup at the printer, with no "hand" icon on the printer, only an "eye" icon.

By the way, when I did the regression episode, I took Sully with me to wait outside the interrogation room.

I am getting so frustated that  I am on the verge of uninstalling the game.  Also, I should make clear that this is the iPad version of the game that I am playing, not the computer version.

There is one other thing that I should mention.  After doing the stuff on Erica's computer as mentioned earlier, I talked to John.  I could talk to him about Antony Longmore, but there was no option to talk to him about "other cases".  Erica says to John that I found the name, and John just says to take Sully with me.  The option to talk about other cases never came up.  It almost seems as though the game won't recognize that I already did both searches on Amy Lewis.

Upon searching the forums, didn't some people experience similar, but slightly different issues when talking to John in the computer version, that the topic of "other cases" never came up?  Perhaps there are some issues in the iPad version, and I am the first one to report it.

Yeah I tested what you experienced on my own iPad with no problems and we know quite a few other people have finished this version without incident. I wonder if maybe you went into the "Sarah Goodman" case again instead of the Amy Lewis one. Sarah's is the only one that allows you to print anything. There's no circumstance coded into the game that would allow Erica to say that she successfully printed something from Amy's case.

I most definitely went into the Amy Lewis case, did a search with "hanging" and "suicide", with a correlation to "Sarah", and that evidence report came up, and the option to print it was indeed there.  Perhaps I will try again, with cross reference o Sarah when dong the search, and see if I can search for it successfully.

No, that didn't work either.  If I leave the cross reference to Sarah out, the search could not be completed at all.   I did indeed have to include a cross reference to Sarah to even do the search, and a the top of the page was "print evidence report".

So it appears that I am stymied for my version of the game.

I only wish there was a way to get a saved version of the game after the Amy Lewis search, but that is not possible with the iPad version.

Sorry, I should clarify - the *button* is still there, but the response you say Erica is giving when you click on it is only possible as a response to clicking that button when on the Sarah Goodman case. There's a completely different response about not needing to print anything if you try to click that button when in the Amy Lewis case.

I finally got through it!

It was strange, though.  If I did the search on Amy Lewis the first time(yes, her name is in the first box), it brought up the Sarah Goodman file, but if I re-tapped on search again, with the exact same parameters, it brought up the correct file, the Amy Lewis file.  It is odd that I had to tap on "search" a second time to get the correct evidence report, and indeed, if Erica tried to print this one, she said that she didn't need it.

Thankfully, despite these issues, I am now able to proceed, and am now in Longford's apartment with Sully.

Er, there are two different search forms on that screen. One of which pulls up a specific file and the other which allows you to seek a file based on case parameters. They are not synced up to each other's forms at all. I'm glad you got through it okay!
