I am SO excited for this. Easily one of my favorite series ever. It just didn't get the traction it deserved when it was on TV, I think a lot of people missed early episodes so they didn't understand things that were referenced later. It really needs to be watched from the beginning, I watch the whole series every fall :P

It's been a while since I watched the original run of the series, but I am indeed excited for the comeback. :) Hmm, maybe we should do some rewatching before we jump into it...

Man, I loved this!  I basically just sat down and marathoned them.  It helps that I've been wicked sick lately, so I had the time.  Actually, no, screw that.  Being sick doesn't help anything.  I kind of hate it, actually.

Regardless, these were hysterical.  In some ways they were different with the interconnected and specific character stories, but in other ways it was the same humor.  There needed to be more George Michael and Maeby and Lucile storylines, but what can you do.  I also like that they're giving Gob more insight into his own actions (though he immediately shakes it off and goes back to his own behaviors.)  Most of all, I love that they've finally embraced the fact that Michael is not a good guy.  The original series was all how he's trying to keep the family together, but you saw underneath it was the same Bluth lies and deceit and self-interest.  In the new episodes, it is out in the open.  Michael is a horrible person.  One of those guys who says they're a "nice guy" then tries to manipulate and whine about women not sleeping with them when all they want to do is put them on a pedestal.  It really fits the character.  And I also loved how George Michael is stepping into his Bluth heritage with the constant lies.  It's very fatalistic and profound and a little dark.  But also wildly hilarious.  I really can't say enough good about the episodes and I loved how they fit in with each other to the point that you just didn't get it until you watched a few episodes more, then everything made sense.

Honestly the only negatives are the negatives I already had with the original seasons.  Some of the jokes I don't find funny.  Like Gene Parmesan.  I just find that whole gag stupid.  But that's ok.  Comedy can't all be hits because we all have different tastes.  I still think that this was the funniest show ever on t.v.  Even better than 30 Rock (which crashed and burned towards the end.)
