Robert's interrogation
« on: September 20, 2013, 02:58:48 PM »
I am stuck... I have pieced things together but I do not have any idea how to decipher the note. The locket and the tape recorder are on the table and I went for Sully as a partner. I can do the regression part but it doesn't help any further. How do I obtain the note's content?

Thanks!

My memory is rusty. Have you tried to listen to the tape from your inventory in the interrogation room? Have you asked Sully to speak with Robert?

I think you should give him a snack and have a tape mentioning a date. What part of regression are you missing?

Regression isn't the only power at Erica's disposal. She can also use another of her powers to bring something from the past into view which can help you progress toward deciphering the note.

Yes, but I cannot select that power. When clicking the orb to the lower left, I only see one purple swirl that sits on Robert. Need a bit more of a heads up. Might this be a bug?

Also, I get the message that her powers are screwed when going back to the crime scene or Davies' office. Where does this game place saves? Perhaps someone could see if my savegame is broken?

She needs to do something to fix her powers. Have you talked to John? Has he advised you to visit a certain lady? :)

Yes but Rose just tells me about the "purple" power oder and over and nothing about the projection (the 3 swirls on Robert, Sully and the tape recorder dont show up at all)

My money is still on a bug ;)

I have a bit of free time on my hands now. Would you like to post the save file here?

I don't know about GOG, location for other versions:
Phoenix Online: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios
Steam:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\67250123\242780\remote\cognition _ episode 2 (ID folders are probably different)

Thanks. I see :).

Hint 1: Rose asked you to give her something personal owned by John, your donuts-loving colleague. You have already received it.
Hint 2:
Spoiler (mouse over to reveal):

It's like playing it for first time again ;D. I was able to decypher the note in your save file, so it doesn't seem to be a problem. Good luck!

Hmmmm. I did this before. The power of projection must have reset somehow...

Guess this is something for my ongoing buglist ;)

Many thanks Rinu!

Ah, I see. Sorry to hear that. I've been lucky to encounter a minimal number of bugs through whole series myself.

It was my pleasure to be of some help :). By the way, you are coming very close to the moment I was seriously stuck :p.

I have a similar problem. I went with John and did everything except deciphering the note. I've got the mug, the lighter, and the locket. I know I'm supposed to use projection now, but it just doesn't show up.

When I activate cognition, I can only see the regression. If I hold space, then I can see the text for projection show up for split second while exiting cognition, but I can't click it. Am I stuck? (Save file attached.)

The mug, lighter, and locket aren't actually the items for doing projection. You need the tape recorder on the table to be able to do that.

Yeah, I actually have that, too. The problem is not that I can't finalise the projection: I can't even initiate it. :(

Attaching the relevant screenshot. The pink glow is present, but the green one isn't. When I press space only the regression is mentioned except in the split second as I exit the cognition mode.

Also, I'm running the gog.com version with the 2.0.1 patch available there (yay holiday sale) on windows 8.1 (32-bit). The game actually works quite nice with the touch screen, only sometimes it's a little hard to aim and I can't really take notes or press space without a keyboard attached...

Also, the only hints I get at this point are those regarding the photos from post office and a vague hint that I should use Rose's powers to recreate the record that is being cut short. I already know the colour of the dress, the date, time, the restaurant name and station.

If you could send me a current save, just to Weldon (at) postudios (dot) com I can take a look and see where things are stuck. Thanks!

I've already attached it to a previous message, but I've sent you another copy now anyway. Thanks for the quick reply. :)
