Well, I learned something today! Thanks, Numbers!

Also, AWESOME DELORIA!

Does that mean you've FINALLY gotten away from those awful parents?

LadyTerra

And by "gotten away," we mean got them arrested for negligence?

And you guys are weird.  Chocolate is by far the best, especially if you make your own and use good cocoa powder.  Although, I'm tempted to try a mix of chocolate and vanilla bean, or as I like to call, Chanilla.
I have my cake and eat it too, until it's gone.  Then I can't do either.

Aww!  You have the Sword of Hugging +3!  All of your attacks deal affectionate damage!

Deloria

Meh. They've set me up in a beautiful apartment, so I don't care as long as I don't have to see them again for a very, very long time. :P Though that actually just means a month in terms of my mother, because she's coming back to bring me pretty antique ceiling lamps and help me buy furniture. *sighs*

BUREAUCRACY SUCKS!

So I decided to stay in and read the first fifteen issues of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8. :P It was totally worth it. :P I can't believe I need forms to register other forms to register yet other forms. XP So tomorrow I need to get a prepaid cell phone (because I'm not allowed to sign a real cell phone contract until I've been here for six months ::)), so I can activate e-banking, so I can pay student fees, so I can obtain health insurance, so I can officially register for the second time in the country, so I can get an internet contract. :P But before any of that happens, I need to wait for my debit card to arrive in the mail, because apparently that's so important that they won't let me physically do anything for any of the places until that arrives, even though I have others from Switzerland. *sighs* Why does everything always have to be so complicated? :(

Oh, and the old tenants took the light bulbs and left me with bare wires in the ceiling, so no lights. And the electrician's not going to be able to come until the 11th. And I have no bed or furniture. Le sigh.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on BtVS Season as you continue to read it :)

And good luck with the apt stuff!

There's few things worse than bureucracy and daaamn you really can't do anything o.O

Deloria

But it's the most retarded and obtuse system ever. XD It's not that they need the bank information (which I have and can provide), it's that they physically need the card so they can physically make a copy of the card. ::) No, the IBAN won't suffice. :P I am waiting on mail. And it is paralysing. XP In other news, I got a letter from the energy company asking me to respond within a week, and it was sent on the 14th apparently and it only just got here today. Le sigh. :(

And I still have no furniture.

Classy. ::)

 I have faith it will all be sorted in time (these things do take a grueling amount of time :-\ and sometimes there's very little sympathy from the bureaucrats involved in some cases... b/c after all, it's not like they've ever tried to immigrate @_@).

KatieHal

Do you have a landlord you can go to about the lightbulb situation at least?

I hate when that happens with bills. Respond by two days before you got this! Thanks guys. :P

I have been told I will never meet the landlord and that he is out of the country indefinitely. :P

You know, I was about to scold Stika for taking the focus away from Deloria's misadventures, but then I realized that topics shifting to completely unrelated subjects happen all the time on this forajskldfo3ijnoifklfaskldnfa

Sorry, there was a spider on my keyboard. I think I got it though.

Considering this thread is called "Random talk," I'd say most anything qualifies as on-topic.

I didn't say anything about it being off-topic, I just said that Deloria's story was interesting. Definitely more interesting than a mutant Asian kid who can see perfectly clearly in the dark. I mean, anomalies in the human body that could potentially lead to scientific advancement? Who cares about THAT?

Oh yeah baby. But there are still more out there. We may never destroy them completely. But just to reassure everyone that we have the upper hand, I'll just share this picture with you:
