black screen except for walking feet icon

I have played through the first 3 episodes and started into episode 4 with no problems - until now.  I loaded up the game as usual, selected a saved game to restore and it loaded the game but all I see is a black screen and the walking feet icon.

I have Windows 8 but have had no issue until now.

I'm a bit confused if you're starting Episode 4 from scratch, or if you just installed Episode 4 and tried to load a saved game from a previous episode?

I have installed episode 4 and played and saved games twice since installing episode 4. So I am not starting episode 4 from scratch nor am I trying to load a game from a previous episode. I am trying to load a previously saved game from episode 4. In other words, I had installed episode 4 and previously played it with no issue.

And you get this same problem regardless of which saved game you load, or even if you start any episode from scratch? Or is it specific to a single saved game?

If it happens under all circumstances, it might be worth modifying the settings before launching the game to see if running in a window instead of fullscreen or something like that helps.

If it only happens to a specific saved game or two, they may have somehow been corrupted.

Tried windowed mode - same result. Tried starting episode from scratch and that worked except I could not save my game. Checked the forum and discovered I should set tls.exe to Run as administrator. Decided to try loading a saved game after making this change and what do know it worked and I am able to save my game.

Great to hear it's working properly for you again, just weird that it started having that issue out of the blue like that. Enjoy!
