I shouldn't be so nice since it was your second guess
, but yes, it is from the PQ1 VGA remake. (Yes, they did make one.)
OK, we got the game down, and Draco got the gist of it... we just need the specific place in the game and how.

Well, the death scene would be when you get Marie out of jail, offer your place to stay after you get her out, and her way of thanking you (as she was a hooker) is to get it on. You're supposed to say no, as you're on duty.

Thankee, Eric. I need to add more games to my website collection someday.
And... ooohhh... J-R's so close! I'll give you guys a hint... it's near the end of the game after Marie helps you, and J-R got the "You're supposed to say no 'cause you're on duty." part right.

Awh, crud, I dunno. I remember so little from that game now. It's been over a decade since I played PQ1!
As for the VGA remake....ooh, where can I get a copy?! (and would it run on this thing?)

Same place you get most old games... eBay!
Unlike Sierra's other collections, the PQ one generally stays cheap.

Ok, here's the death scene I was suppose to post very long ago
It's a general death message, so you just have to find the game it's from. I'm pretty sure there's at least one person on the forum who played this game

A TAD on the hard side? that game is IMPOSSIBLE!! literally impossible, when you consider I always get this bug that keeps me from getting to the diviner's island

lol! Seriously, that game is impossible on modern speed machines... (im pretty sure that diviner bug is caused by the floating green things going warp 9 across the screen)
Alright... my turn... now... what to post...
(BTW, I mentioned it a while back... mayhaps you were remembering me?

Zork I, after being eaten by a grue?
Though I never played Zork, so I wouldn't know which one or when exactly...
Or whether it is really a game parodying Zork.
EDIT: Ah, it *is* ADOM, which I never heard of frankly.

I've heard of it, but never played it.
P.S. Are you sure that's it?

I looked up the death message, it was in someone's blog.
Seems to mostly happen when you walk through pitch darkness for about 2 or 3 screens at any point in the game.

Too bad that I have to post an adventure game death.
I doubt I could get away with an action/adventure game either.
