Sir Perceval of Daventry

In another tread, waltz dancing said you guys need all the help and support you guys can get to finish TSL. I want to see the game finished and released as much as anyone else here. So I'm asking the staff, what can fans like myself on this forum do to help see Ep 5 released sooner?

waltzdancing

The best thing that we need as in the volunteer team, is to offer us encouragement, support us with your trust and best regards. I'm speaking for myself, but coming on to the forums and seeing attacks and anger that makes me want to leave and hide because I do this out of love of the game and for the fans that helped me to save this project. I is damaging mentally to come to a safe haven and see us thrown aside. I know it has been a while since anything was heard but we do that because any bit we give you might think it's coming any day and that is not what we want to project for the project because we honestly don't know when it is coming.

Please, please, please, just support and not put us down as some posts have. It is disheartening and mentally defeating. If anything does come up, please believe me that I will tell you the moment it does. I have not led you astray. Just hang in there.

I for one would do more if I could.  It honestly saddens me when I come in here and I see people put ya'll down.  I come in here every so often to see if there's any updates, whether they be just pictures or whatnot, but I know the crew is doing their best every day. <3

So, I've been reading around on the forums for awhile, but never registered because I didn't really have anything to add to anything. I guess there is always complaining and other disheartening comments with any project. I thought I would register just to tell the good folks that have and are working on The Silver Lining thank you. Thank you all so much for so generously devoting time and effort on the completion and release of the sure-to-be epic fifth episode of a totally awesome fan game^_^ The first four episodes are so awesome! I really appreciate the humor and wit as well as the awesome game play and continuation of a great adventure game series.

Although I wouldn't hate you guys if you did drop the project for whatever reason (please, please, please don't, though, pretty please), I feel it would be a really great shame to leave such a fun episodic series unfinished. I know of a case where a team that was working on a fan project (a sequel to another project they had previously completed) actually abandoned it, leaving it unfinished. One of the team members suggested that the ungrateful attitudes of the would be recipients may have helped kill their will to complete the project. I sincerely hope this will not be the case with The Silver Lining Episode Five, and I am extremely thankful for the fantastic episodes that have been released and the work that is being put into the fifth as we post here. To the wonderful Silver Lining team, I send you my very best wishes :)

To the TSL team. Thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart. I just started playing TSL and can not express how amazed I am at the quality of this game. Exploring the Green Isles again rendered so beautifully yet faithfully in splendid 3D was like coming home after a long time away. Sure i encountered a few glitches, but nothing a quick reload couldn't solve. Overall the game is wonderous, and I would gladly pay for it. The fact that it is free is a double bonus. You've made a 30 year old man very happy, bringing a bit of his childhood back to life, I've just started episode 3 and would urge you to ignore all impatient detractors and continue working whenever you can. Please don't let this fabulous game wither and die. King Graham never gives up, and I hope you don't either.

A thousand thanks, and all my hopes for this project.

I too am an older fan of the King's Quest series. My first game was at age 10. I hope this game does come out before I am to old to play this wonderful game lol. How I wish it would come out. I understand the new engine will make the game bug free as possible :)  ;D

DreamFan

You're never too old to play a game or do anything else you enjoy ;)

Coming here and reading that people are attacking the very people who brought four of the five episodes of an original King's Quest fan-game to light really bothers me.  I know it's been a long trek.  Hell, I've followed the project for eleven years now (well, ten years and eleven months as of today).  ELEVEN (10 and 11 for the pedantic).  That's INSANE.  The fact that anything came to fruition from the team at all shows an immense amount of dedication that I can only begin to describe how much I admire.

Understandably, everyone's putting their time to the projects that are actually bringing some form of income.  I would love to see the project reach its conclusion and this TEAMSTER will wait another eleven years (or ten years and eleven months) for it to happen!

I'll wait until the day I die.

I have been away from the forums for a little while, but I have to say I am shocked any individual would have the audacity to make any demands from a volunteer group. If I thought it would help, I would speak my mind directed to those individuals. Instead, please let me apologize for the ignorance and insensitivity shown with the comments made.

Most importantly, I want to say thank you to the volunteer team working on The Silver Lining. You are doing a great job, and I fully support however the team decides to bring The Silver Lining to a close.

As well, thank you for your Team Tuesday posts, as it has been a pleasure getting to know the individuals not afraid to dream and follow those dreams. To Adrienne, thank you for taking the time after a busy day teaching to work on this project. My brother is a teacher, and I get to hear first hand how busy the job is. I imagine you must be passionate about this project, and I'm sure you already know what I am going to write next, but please make sure you put aside time for yourself as your health and sanity has to come first. Kristen, I am sure your creative input and review has been a huge asset to the game development. I hope your time and effort help you to get full time employment in your dream job. Chris, the drawings and animations on your portfolio and used in the game are beautiful! As well, thank you Chris for your hard work with game logic, scene, and storyboard.  To Bruce, I have always found game backgrounds create an immersive environment, and your portfolio shows your wonderful creativity! Thank you Clau, for your amazing dedication to this project from Episode 1. Your artistic help and coordination of team efforts are appreciated. Heather your artwork is gorgeous, so thank you for sharing your portfolio and those drawings with us. Thank you RoAnna, for your contributions to the game development both with your art and your voice! I am sure there are more individuals talented individuals not shown on the Team Tuesday, and more roles and hats worn by the ones that were, so thank you to everyone for your hard work.

I hope other fans will take a moment to give their thanks as well.
