The first three are all classics. I personally like the third game, just because hearing the actors saying their lines is funnier than reading the text on the screen. The third game, like Space Quest 6, is also an example of what KQ7 could've looked like, had it been animated more smoothly.

I know I'm probably gonna get stoned for this, but I actually liked Escape from Monkey Island. Sure, it wasn't my favorite, but I still liked what I saw.

No, my favorite is Tales of Monkey Island.

I like Escape from Monkey Island, too. I can't really pick a favorite fairly since I have never played Curse of Monkey Island although I'll probably think it's awesome like all the others are. I'm not even sure which of the ones I've played is my favorite.

The Curse of Monkey Island.  It holds a special place for me as sort of the last hurrah for fully 2D adventure games and in my view is still one of the best animated 2D adventures, as well as keeping the clever puzzles and adding top notch voice acting for the first time in the series.  After the game came out, the genre transitioned more to 3D and 2.5D.

Did anyone ever make a patch for MI and MI2 to add the voice files from the remakes?  That's my dream.
