How do you make a Poll Thread, im freaking out with an Idea in my head.  :o :suffer:

Would you like Roberta and Ken Williams be Involved with KQ9

I mean seriously, why would they just Visit the Studio when Roberta brushed off All the Remakes of the Games in saying Great Work, yet when the New KQ Game got announced, they are THERE in the Studio.

You go to the sub-forum of your choosing and instead of clicking on "new topic" you select "new poll" :)

Roberta has stated on numerous occasions that she is retired and she has no interest of getting back into video game development. After the fiasco of Mask of Eternity's development cycle, I don't blame her. So, any involvement that she might have with the new game is probably more on a Creative Consultant factor more than anything else. She'll probably get special thanks in the credits, and of course Creator's credit, but I doubt we'll see anything more than that.

As far as them meeting with The Odd Gentlemen, I believe that TOG specifically requested the meeting and wanted to get their "blessing" on the direction that they were taking the new King's Quest game. Since this IS the first official King's Quest title to come out since Mask of Eternity, I can understand Ken and Roberta wanting to make sure the IP that brought them into prominence is in good hands. It should also be noted that until the recent Adventure Game Revival Movement, Ken and Roberta purposefully stayed out of the public's eye for the most part. I believe that Roberta has played through the major fan games (ADGI's & IA's remakes, as well as TSL), but since they were fan projects by companies that had no real source of revenue, I doubt they had the finances to actually schedule a meeting with the Williamses in order to get them to look over the game.

If I recall correctly, back when Telltale was going to make the newest King's Quest game, she met with the designers who were working on it and gave them some ideas, but obviously that game never even really began principal development.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this new wonderful game! :D

Talk to you later!

I wonder if there will be a Forum for the New KQ9 at the Sierra Site or if theres a Forum at the OddGentlemen Site, i mean how else am i going to talk about KQ9 if theres no Official Forum.

Anyway, i would love to RPG Daventry like MOE where i walk into the Castle from the Gate around the corner towards the Throne Room.

I agree that it would be awesome to see the Official Sierra forums restarted again! They were the central location of the Sierra community back in the late 90's/early 2000's. It would be cool to see them restarted once again!

In other news, according to the Odd Gentlemen's site, the new King's Quest's world premier will take place this Friday at the Game Awards - 6PM Pacific Time! There will also be a tribute to Ken and Roberta Williams. Looking forward to seeing what they have to show!

Talk to you later!

Fantastic and i do hope you will post Images and Videos here, im not much of a Blog or Twitter guy :P

I wonder the reason the New KQ Game will be an RPG is that they will Remake MOE, hence it would be a Scary Story for the Granddaughter of Graham to tell.  ???

Seriously, there need to be a Forum Board. TSL is pretty dead at times and im not a Facebook and Twitter guy. How am i suppose to know anything New on the New KQ Game or go to a Forum where you guys are more active.

I want to show Sierra and TheOddGentleman my Fan work and talk about KQ but they dont have a Forum Board

I loved the trailer, and I really like that art style! Reminds me of Tales of Monkey Island from Telltale, which isn't a bad thing. I like the Old!Graham voice over too, though NOTHING will top the awesomeness of TSL's Graham voice which I consider to be perfect.

I don't really care for the plastic look either. The backgrounds are pretty, though. But as long as it plays well and has a compelling story, I can get past that. Overall, I'm excited! I hope it won't be as QTE-driven as the trailer seems to suggest, but of course they had to show the more active parts in the trailer.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Im all for KQ10 aka KQ2 if we are going to play KQ9 aka KQ1

Besides, i think this is a nice introduction to the Franchise that hasent even heard about Sierra or Kings Quest

stika

We need to take into account that the Odd Gentleman is an indie studio as well. So with that in mind I think graphically the game looks really amazing.

Lambonius

I like that all the complaints here are about the graphical style and that nobody seems to be the least bit concerned that nothing in that trailer even remotely resembles an actual adventure game.  Has contemporary gaming really ruined you all THAT MUCH??

stika

To be honest I think most half-expected it to be a puzzle platformer or something of the sort. I don't think it would even be on the game awards show if were a point and click adventure game.

Numbers

I for one am not at all surprised that it looks like every other TellTale game out there.
