Is the version of GK20 that is available from GoG (PC version) the most up to date version available?  Does it have all of the same fixes in place that the Steam version has?  If not, when do you anticipate it'll be updated?

Thanks.

@wilco64256:

What about the GOG MAC version? Why hasn't it received a patch? Is it under development? When can we expect it? Why won't any of you guys reply to posts from other Mac users asking the same thing? The only response I can find is "We haven't released a Mac version" - which is self evident! We just want to know when (or if) we will be able to play GK20th with confidence that we won't lose saves or be unable to progress due to bugs that have been PATCHED FOR PC! (Both of which happened to me.)

Weldon, you're apparently an Omnipotent Being, so you should be able to answer these questions quite easily. Don't be afraid to use all of your mighty powers if you have to.

I honestly have not yet seen anyone mention that GOG isn't carrying the Mac version. They most definitely should be. We supplied them with a Mac version with the exact same fixes as the PC version. Perhaps you could direct me to wherever these concerns are being discussed?

Sorry for the delay in response Weldon - I have other priorities at the moment.

I have checked GOG; the Mac version available for download is 2.0.0.4. This is the same version I downloaded on October 21st.

A post from Wayens reassuring Mac customers their issues will not be ignored: http://goo.gl/P93yBO

A thread related to the bug I encountered. It informs PC users their version is fixed, while containing no helpful information for Mac users: http://goo.gl/BgbZet

(The last post of that thread is mine, and expresses my frustration at spending hours futilely trying to end Day 2 after unknowingly triggering the 'Cazanoux research' autosave bug. After giving up and seeking assistance online (something I wanted to avoid doing) I re-loaded, played through Day 2 again and went to sleep. The next day I upgraded to Yosemite, and lost all save games. Unsurprisingly, my enthusiasm for playing your game evaporated.)

A thread regarding many potential issues that may prevent in game progress:  http://goo.gl/bqyEb6

I purchased GK 20th Anniversary hoping to see if I could still solve all the game's puzzles without assistance, as I did in 1993, but due to the presence of these bugs I cannot play with confidence that if I am 'stuck' the fault is mine, and not the developer's. This is why I cannot recommence playing until a patch has been issued. If Phoenix Online Studios have indeed released a patch for the Mac, then someone needs to ensure it is available via the retail channels the game has been sold through.

Hm I'll check with GOG and see if I can find out why they didn't update the Mac version of the game. Thanks for pointing me to that thread.

Weldon,

Did anything come of this?

Thanks.

Any news here? I see GOG still has v2.0.0 for MAC and 2.1.0 for WIN on their site. I just encountered a bug on Day 5 where I'm unable to hand Dr. Hartridge's notes to Mosley, so I'm pretty much stuck.
