Was that the one with Fred Sanford, or am I thinking of the 3rd?

Kings Quest and LSL! LSL, especially-funniest games ever.

So righteous in our blood.
It looks so tarnished in our eyes,
Yet so afraid of...

Fading into nothing,
Fading into nothing.
Just a trace of light
That burns within our thoughts... "

Hehe, it's fun when people misread polls. :suffer:

And welcome back uselessidguy!  ;D

More people need to vote in these polls.

Louisiana Night

and I still think it's funny, that KQ was tied for 2nd place. lol

Hey!  >:(

I'm not the one that voted for Kings Quest.

Yonkey

You took pleasure in the people that did.  ;P

If you didn't want people to vote for KQ, then don't add that option to the poll  ;P

Yonkey

They're free to vote; but they're also free to get shot. :suffer:

Pwincess

What about free speech?  After all, this is a public site where anybody can voice their opinions (without getting shot) ;P

Is there a clause in the registration form for the KQ9 visitors site saying that you can say anything anti-kq?

Besides, if everybody says that they loved the KQ series and the people who disliked certain aspects of the series didn't post, you wouldn't be able to improve KQ9  ;P

Yonkey

Having free speech doesn't protect you from getting shot.  There's always some risk in promoting hated; but that goes with the territory.  ;-D

Seriously though, you can vote for whatever you want.  That's why I didn't remove it from the listing, because it's true that you can learn a lot from criticizm.  I just can't stop the truckloads of tomatoes getting thrown at you when you talk anti-kq.  :suffer:

Disliking ONE aspect of the KQ series does not mean that I dislike KQ9.  Besides, I loved the series enough to spend the time and money to purchase each game in the series from ebay.

Yonkey

Yeah, I feel the same way about QfG.  If Hero6 or AGDI does a good job in their games, I may change my feelings on that series too. ;D

I  <3 QFG IV!

Yeah, that game was fantastic (except for the swamp-bug) but my favorite in the "Qfg" series has to be the second game.

Actually, KQ6 does have dead ends.... it's just that usually the game is good about killing you off for it before you get too far.

I think there's only one spot where getting into a dead end doesn't kill you off, but it's pretty obvious you doofed on that one. :P

Yup, that's if you forgot to give Jollo the fake  lamp in the long end. Or simply never ever met Jollo. I loved QFG2+4+1 what I didn't like was three. it just never had any real spark of what you had to do substancially, just vague references that the simbani and the leopardmen were at war and that there might be demon involvment.

IIRC, you can still avoid dying then if you use the mint on Shamir. That is, of course, if you remebered to get the mint ;)
And getting to meet Jollo was really annoying. I think there's a point in the game where he just wouldn't show at the bookshop anymore, even if you haven't talked to him earlier. Not to mention, you might unwittingly send the ring to Cassima before talking to him :-\

Other dead ends I can think of (not necessarily tried them, though): Entering the catacombs without brick/hole/scarf/lamp, not talking to the ghost-mother, Entering the castle without nightingale (short path), and not taking the gauntlet (although you die pretty quickly then).
