With the ultra crapola KQ7, the rape that was MoE, TOG's Guybrush Grahamwood FakeKQ Quest, is it safe to say that KQ6 was the last real KQ game?

Oh PLEASE, RK! KQ7 isn't THAT bad!

I personally don't hate the whole crying thing that people give Valanice flack for. She's trapped suddenly in another world, no way known how to get back home, separated from her daughter who might be DEAD for all she knows and it's really bad that the last thing they did together was argue about Rosella not being married yet! Wouldn't YOU start crying (or at least feel insurmountable regret) just from worry and sadness at what you've lost?!

As for what you're going to inevitably say about Edgar, I personally don't mind that either because, hey, it's a nice parallel to Alexander! Was born royalty, kidnapped as a baby and raised by someone who wasn't their parent and later on, save the day and find out their origins.

As for the art style, frankly the backgrounds are quite nice! Yes, the animations could be better, but they could be worse too. The only one that REALLY stuck out as bad to me off the top of my head, is the bear thing that Valanice scares away.

The acting is cheesy, but! You gotta remember that this is a different world too! Things are wackier here, after all. The different world explains why (in universe anyway) the art style is changed too. Also, you don't get to talk about it being badly acted when your favorite game in the series is 5. At least 7 didn't end with a Wizard suddenly teleporting in to not only solve everything but explain everything we already know! Yes, I realize that having a spiderweb stop a volcano is more than a little strange, but it IS clearly magical!

Also, I like Land Beyond Dreams! Sue me! I think Rosella has a pretty singing voice! And speaking of Rosella, I don't mind her personality here. Know why? Two reasons: firstly for all the claims that she's a "badass" in 4, I didn't see much of a personality at all in that game, and mostly give the badass part to the person controlling her. Secondly, this is more important: she's royalty! And she was spoiled too because she was raised as a Princess! The reason why Alexander is liked so much is, like his father, he's humble. And why is Alexander humble? Because he was raised as a slave, and slaves are usually meant to be quiet and subservient to their master, lest they be whipped. Or in Manannan's case, zapped.

As for the new game... Oh... I feel so sorry for you, RK. *shakes head* How could have fallen so far to just... give up and switch sides like this? Then again, you did say that if the game disappointed you that you'd be standing up with the people who hated it. I guess they finally just got to you, hm?

And you call yourself a true fan! Call me disappointed, Sir Knight!

Oh, GrahamRocks...as Lambonius once said to you, "You're a funny little girl." Nobody asked for your opinion on KQ7. We already know how much you adore that abomination, and I've already debunked everything you've just said. If you feel the need to dig yourself deeper, I will gladly hand you a shovel.

I take over two dozen meds, and I still feel like I'm the only sane person on this forum.

Bludshot

They are real KQ games, they all have King's Quest in the title.

@OP: Yes.  Certainly the last great one.

Numbers: Behave. One more and you're getting a temporary ban.

She's got her opinions, you've got yours. They are different, oh well, move along. Don't be a jerk about it. Same goes for the video with profanity in it.

Awww, see, I always like KQ7 also.  :) I was I think ten when it came out, so of course I loved that it starred girls and that it looked more like a cartoon than the others. I believe that I remember there was a thread made (like four score and seven years ago) about the differences between 7 and the rest of them, and someone made the point that Sierra was trying to attract a different audience, which is why the style is so dramatically different than the others.

That being said--yes, I do consider 7 a "real" King's Quest game. I have never played 8, so I can't speak for it, so for me the series ends at 7. The characters are the same, and their histories are the same. It's all canon. I enjoy the gameplay even now.

Again, since I was a little girl, I loved the art style, and I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but I still like them. Of course the forest and the land in the clouds was like   :lovegoggles: :lovegoggles: :lovegoggles: to a little girl who adore(s) the Care Bears. All the rainbows and multicolored trees and such--yeah. :) I still love it.

And there's that. I like that Edgar shows up again. I think it was cool that they tied the story in with a long lost character that so obviously had the hots for good ole Rosie. And you're right, Miss Rocks, it's totally a parallel and that's cool. There's a difference though....I mean, not to sound racist, but Graham and Valanice don't have green skin.  ;)

HOWEVER...........Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow will go down in Hailey's history of Best Adventure Game Ever. I love all of them (I'll even go so far as to say I like 7 next best), but 6 is, was, and always will be the best one.
