No no no, you've got the quote all wrong! He said: "No...I am your father." :P

Go watch the movie again, he clearly italicizes "I". ;P

Maybe you're watching different movies. :P Personally, I think putting emphasis on "am" sounds coolest though. :P

Luke: You killed my father!
Darth Ni--er, Vader: No Luke, *breathing sounds* I am your father.

Since the thing that's changing is the verb "to kill," becoming the verb "to be," the emphasis should be on the verb.

Of course, I've never actually SEEN this movie. :P
I'm a princess even if my kingdom is pixelated.

It's funny how you find you enjoy your life when you're happy to be alive.

Jafar

Well, I'm positive that it goes:

Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father...
Luke: He told me enough...he told me you killed him!
Vader: No...I am your father. *EEEVIL music plays*

I think the reason it's misquoted alot is so people will always know where it came from. "I am your father" is a bit vague, even with all the POWAH James Earl Jones puts into the "I". :P
