If you want to. :) I'm not usually a big fan of parties, though... too many people.

Another person that doesn't like parties. :)

Surely the number of active posters inhere are too many for you?

Yes, the number of active posters would be too much for me... which is why I said I'm not big on parties. :D

(I get the feeling you meant to say *aren't* too many for me, but I'm being a b****. :D )

I'm assuming that since neither LN nor Rob brought the punch, CC did.

Hmm..Perhaps it should be a small party, you know, friends, relatives, co-workers, maybe some neighbors, and possibly their friends...

Or am I getting carried away?

Jeysie

Lessee.

Friends: I have two offline friends: Harrison and a childhood friend who currently lives in England.

Relatives: I don't fit in with most of my relatives.

Co-Workers: Seeing as how most of my co-workers consider going to the bar and getting sloshed as being a good time, I'm not keen on partying with them.

Neighbors: No. For the love of humanity, no.

Neighbors' Friends: See above.

Next to Jeysie, I'm probably the least likely person on forum(well, out of the regulars anyways), to go to a party(online, or offline).

I prefer getting together with people, for a common reason(besides partying). So maybe Jeysie would too?

Let's start a Babylon5 convention! ;D

koko_99_2001

Depends on the kind of party.  I have NEVER been to a party besides a birthday party.  And the last birthday party I went to was probably at least a couple years ago.  Getting together with friends for movie nights...that's pretty regular during the summer...but not parties.

Oh, I didn't know birthday parties were included. :-\

Let's give Jeysie an un-birthday party! :P

Jeysie

I've been to several party-esque gatherings, mostly with Harrison's relatives. When it's just him, his siblings, and one or more of his parents and/or grandparents, it's not bad. But I've been to some parties where there was also cousins, aunts, uncles, and/or in-laws, etc., and it was just too much, especially since I don't know most of the people. :P

My family reunion kinda sucked too, actually. I'm possibly subjecting myself to one again next year, but that's mostly because it means I get to vacation in Florida without having to pay hotel costs. :P

Family reunions happen about every year, in my family.

As for not knowing who they are, same here. It doesn't bother me though. There's always someone there, that can trace them back to someone I know. :)

There are enough people at the reunions, that most of us don't stay inside the house where we get together. ;D

So... you don't want a Babylon5 convention, held in your honor? :P

Jeysie

I missed the B5 post. (sheepish look)

While it's not entirely a B5 convention, Shore Leave in Maryland is a fun SF convention. Unfortunately I just never have the time/money to go.

As for knowing people, I don't feel comfortable unless I know someone well enough to know I have stuff to say to them. I'm horrible at small talk.

And as for family reunions in particular... every family has a black sheep. In our case, it's the wife of one of my (blood relative) uncles. My uncle is a good fellow and we like having him around, but none of us can stand her, which often presents a dilemma. Especially since she raises a loud ruckus if she thinks she's been left out of something. :P

We have a family reunion every 4th of July.  Don't mind it all that much...but sometimes it's really annoying.  Most of the time, I know everyone there...but with the family who move away and only come in about once every few years, it takes a while to figure out who they are.

A large amount of my family go to the reunions every year, but many don't live close enough to.

Also, I agree about the black sheep.

*goes back to Babylon Convention subject*

I've never been to any sci-fi convention. I probably wouldn't fit in anyways. :-\

racx_00

Reunions dont occur in my family because most of my family is in UK and my mum and dad are divorced so that knocks out half the family ;D
