*decides to take the risk of being wrong*
I think it's pronounced Side-mell(that's how the voice in my head pronounces it, and it sounds familiar... ).
OMG... "the voice in your head" ?

hahahaha that part was the bestestest

! lol
*thinks about it*
Well... Neil said that Say pronounced it like "sigh"
Mm.. well, to be honest it kind of make sense to me? "Side" sounds more like "Sayd" (kinda how Alex calls me lol) and "Sigh" is more like "Say", so, take your pick

Neil and a few ones have heard me talking by phone or by skype with them, and the amusing part is that they've always went the first time like "this is who?!..." lol, because everyone (even at work!) tends to say 'Say' as the verb, so when I say it how I say it everyone goes like "...who?" lol, and that's only with Say, go figure if I said 'Saydmell' alright

, only my close ones, as in my family, close friends, and my bosse
s
say it correctly (or at least I care to make sure they know how to say it! lol)
Personally, it doesn't matter where I look, my name won't ever show up in any registry thingy, I know what it means obviously because I asked my mom once and yeah it's a mix, anyhow I think I explained it already, so I won't bore you with it again.
Awww, I wanna be bored with it again!
LOL, omg

ok I guess

Seriously though, I haven't seen the explanation to your name in the first place, and I can't get the friggin' search tool to find it.
ah... the search engine... sometimes I wish I could stab that thing with a spoon!

Besides, I'm such a dork that nothing concerning etymology will ever succeed in boring me! So Say, can you tell it again or direct me to the previous post? Also, I was wondering how exactly you pronounce your name. Does the 'sayd' syllable have a vocalic sound like the Spanish diphthong ai as I have imagined it to, or rather as the sound of the vowel in the English word say?
You're too smart! you remind me of Michael sometimes

lol
Yes, yes it's the spanish diphtong form, but in english it translates different (that's why everyone has a way to 'figure it out' or a way to say how they pronounce it as it seems

.....oh yeah, almost forgot! Pleasies? (that seemed to do the trick last time, lol
)
ahh, the magic word lol

Well, since I'm too impatient to wait for your response, I guess I'll have a go at it myself. And you did say it was "mixed", so I think I'll take some liberties here!
hmmm......
OMFGUIMPATIENTCOOKIE lol
My only guess for the 'sayd' element of your name is that it's from Arabic. I found this on it:
Sayd: in the language terminology to mean fish catching or birds' hunting. As a noun, it refers to the name of one protective area, or a refugee settlement.Sounds a little strange for a girl's name, though. I prefer to think that it comes from the Arabic word sa'id, which means 'lucky' or 'happy'.
The second element, 'mell', is easy enough. It's obviously from the Latin mel, mellis or it's Greek cognate
, which means, appropriately enough, 'honey'. Honey = sweet, ergo you = sweet.
Sayd is not a female name, so there you go, it's actually an arabic male name, it comes from my mom's name as a matter of fact, her name is 'Saydi' (originally Sayd itself, but oh well...) my mom's side (my grandfather) was from there, he actually arrived Venezuelan in his greatest years, and met my grandma here, got married and had 3 girls (among them my mom) there is where my whole 'exotic' features comes from lol

(plus my weird second last name 'Mistage'), my mom's grandma was also from somewhere else, and it comes to be I have around 90% of european roots
Sayd from what I got told from arabic friends, means leader or somehow someone willing or whatever. I must state that I'm 100% venezuelan at heart even if I don't look like it, I don't speak arabian neither I want to neither I know how to cook stuff of them or such

I can make arepas though!

lol and whatever traditional venezuelan food I may try! (except mondongo that's just freaking disgusting lol

)
Mell means honey in french actually, and in spanish is Miel, my mom got it from there to actually give it up the meaning of 'sweet' hahaha, what she actually says is sooo ironic cuz sometimes I'm like a bitter-acid lollipop!!

So, kinda good guess!

So then, if my deductions are not in error, your full name means either lucky honey or fish-catching honey, lol!
Okay, maybe you should just tell me what it means...
I actually like your interpretation out of it 'lucky honey' sounds neat, but truth is I don't really have sit down and try to figure it out how could I 'translate' my name, I hate it when I say my name and noone gets it, that's where Say came from, and as a matter of fact someone said that to me once by mistake and I kept it, it seriously annoys me big time whenever I have to say my whole name noone gets it, and it's horrible the kind of combinations that I've got in my life... I feel like everyone has been renaming me always lol
So, that's why I prefer Say, at least is easier to explain than Saydmell, and yet till nowdays I do have to explain it a lot still (as in when I introduce myself in business meetings, new clients, new colleages... work stuff) and the funny thing is that everyone who knows the whole thing, always asks lol

I'm going to print it out or something!!

Well, that was my boring long post

hope you liked
