Why would backing up the site get the account suspended? Too much download bandwidth being used at one time or something?

It generates a tar.gz file for all files on the site and puts it on the server.  Then I download the file to my computer, but the file itself pushed the site over its space quota.  ::)

Well, that's a brain-dead backup service to offer. You'd never be able to backup your site once you filled over half the space.

Exactly!  >:( The strange thing is that it never caused a problem in the past. :-\  The support guy said it was an automated check that caused it to suspend.

Anyway, I'll figure out something.

I wondered what in the name of mike had happened!

Still, all looks well now, lets hope it says that way!

P.S I would try and make some educated comment on your server problems but I would probably sound stupid so I will just stay low; "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."  :-X

and flee in disarray,
Cowards will cry 'tis best to fly
and fight another day.
But warriors know it in their marrow when they die and fall,
It is better to have fought and lost than not have fought at all.

yeah, i was kinda shocked too ; \

the https thingy was still working though, so I wasn't really worried, it was just strange :S :-\

btw can't you just partly backup and move the backup file to your own comp and then continue with the rest of the site?

Since I dont have SSH access, no. :-\  But I did see something that lets me download readymade daily backups (rather than up-to-the-minute).  I'll just use that from now on.

about the server thing, we're sorry about that, yes it was really... weird (because as neils said it didn't happen before) and oh well, thankfully it wasn't for long
