"Lost In Time" the one made by Sierra & someone else, seems a bit more obscure than some games of theirs. Also, I played "Gold Rush!" which I hear very little about from the fans.

I left town, but never got far after that. If i took the wagon train, as soon as we hit the "west" I got dropped in a desert and then it killed me like five seconds later. WTF! It would always tell me I'd forgotten something very important when I left (and it was too late to get whatever it was), and I still have no idea what I forgot there.

I've heard about "Knight Orc", "Lost in Time" and "Gold Rush!", even tried playing "Knight Orc" once. "Lancelot" I only know from the "Identify The Screenshot" thread.

lancelot datasoft OR "level 9 computing" got 344 results,
lancelot game datasoft OR "level 9" OR amiga got 1,770.
"Knight Orc" got 2,560.
Results for "Gold Rush!" and "Lost in Time" were in the thousands... Sierra games can't be truly obscure thanks to all the Sierra adventures fans out there ;)

Funny useless fact:
Google for king quest - the first result is www.kq9.org.
Google for king quest sierra - the first result is www.agdinteractive.com, and kq9.org isn't even on the first page. Or the second page. Or the third. I didn't bother looking any further... it's somewhere in there, though.

So...

Dungeon NomineeGoogle Hits
Lost In Time29,500
MtG PC game29,200
Septerra Core27,600
Gold Rush!16,800
Heart of China16,000
Kingdom O'Magic2,950

Knight Orc2,560
Lancelot1,770
Mickey's Space Adventure707
Sands of Egypt399
Tass Times In Tone Town198
Evidence: The Last Report135

No new low score so far... but we can consider games with less than 200 hits, and games with less than 500 hits and no reference in mobygames obscure enough for The Dungeon. According to this, Sands of Egypt qualify for a cell in The Dungeon.

I just realized this statement is a bit misleading. What I meant was, I couldn't find an English description for it. Here's a translated description for the game.

Yes it is. I only got about 1,550 hits for it, but it's by no means obscure (especially not around here) ;)

Pepper's Adventures in Time is a pretty obscure Sierra game...it was released the same year as Day of the Tentacle (LucasArts), and it's uncannily similar to it in several ways...PAIT got 1,270 hits on Google.

Mixed-Up Fairy Tales (not to be confused with Mixed-Up Mother Goose) got 751 hits.

I've played Pepper's Adventures in Time. Weird game. :P

I think I've thought of another obscure game.

Spider-Man: The Sinister Six

not to be confused with Spiderman2: The Sinister Six

It's action/adventure, but it lets you decide which part to emphasize. :)

Heavens forbid!! :P
But with only 74 hits, that game is either seriously obscure, or a spelling mistake ;)

I've only heard of this game because of the Quest for Glory thing... but it's RPG, and not really obscure -
"hero quest" RPG -sierra -glory got 2,550 hits :-\

Spiderman2: The Sinister Six=PSX action game

Spider-Man: The Sinister Six(exact name)=PC action/adventure game(the few that have played it, don't think much of it)

One thing you've got to give it though, when you set the puzzle difficulty to hard, that's exactly what you get(only about half make sense to me :P )

Does that mean I've named the most obscure  game? :D :P

P.S. What did you type in, to get 75? ???

actually it was Hero Quest from Gremlin, and it is neither a RPG nor adventure, it's a strategy board game  :S

I typed "spiderman the sinister six" game... the result may not be very accurate due to similarities to other games and comics, and to people not using the subtitle. But going by this result, it's the most obscure game to date ;)

BTW, what company is it from? ???

I assumed you're referring to this Hero Quest game. You're right about it being a board game, but some places describe it as an RPG :-\
Anyways, if I remove "RPG" from the search, it gets even more hits... narrowing it with
"hero quest" board-game PC OR atari -sierra -glory still gets over 2,000 hits.

*looks at CD case*

Byron Preiss Multimedia :P

under the imprint Brooklyn Multimedia

They also made the games(which are probably more obscure):
Robot City
Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles
Private Eye

------------------------------------------------------------
Another obscure game.

Chrono Quest

Taken from zerog's screenshot :)

Storm

Alright...

spiderman "Byron Preiss" - 377 hits
"The Martian Chronicles" PC - 3,330 hits
"robot city" PC game - 1,280 hits
"private eye" "Byron Preiss" - 441 hits

From what I've seen, Byron Preiss is pretty notorious for making crappy games :-\

QuoteThe Sinister Six is a thoroughly bad adventure game adaptation of the hit Spider-Man franchise. Following the plot of the comic book of the same name, the gameplay is straightforward: choose what you want to do next from a menu of multiple choices, and follow to the next screen where you will play one of the extremely simple mouse-driven mini arcade games. Some are so simple, in fact, that you can complete them without really knowing what you are doing.
Despite decent cartoony graphics and an okay plot, the gameplay is so laughably simple and easy that the 'game' portion is almost nonexistent. In contrast to the much better Spider-Man game years later by Activision based on the hit movie, this Byron Preiss game turns a blockbuster franchise into a horrible game that poses no challenge and offers no fun whatsoever...

Oh, and

Chrono Quest - 891 hits
"Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

Louisiana Night

It's been knocked down to 3rd place. :'( :P

I'll agree with everything they said about the Spider-Man game....when it's two difficulty settings are set to easy(one for combat, the other for puzzles). ;P

And when it's set to hard? I've read in some places that the hard setting isn't really all that hard :-\
