I've seen what using the letter 'i' as the tag for italics can do on forums, on this forum you can't even use three!'s in a row without getting a smiley. I don't think it'd be appropriate to add another confusing smiley-tag.

It's not just b, it's a lot of letters and that bug's already been reported.  It has to do with the search algorithm the custom-smilies use.  I don't have time to look into fixing that now anyway.

As for the three !'s, we decided on using that because three ?'s are used for .  Plus, they always taught me in elementary school to never use excessive exclamation marks.  Consider the as your Grade 2 teacher coming back to haunt you.

It's not the same. The under them is smiling. What if I don't want to convey a smile with my !'s? the three !'s are more general

Excessive use of anything is never a good thing, but I don't remember it ever being applied to exclamation marks (or any mark for that matter).
Besides, even if I still diid remember my Grade 2 teacher, in elementary school I was always the smartest boy of my class so she would never haunt me now.
