This is slightly different from the other future adventure game thread in the sense im actually talking about Traditional adventure games rather than MMO ones.

First thing I'd like to draw your attention to is Another Code by Nintendo. Yeah I know I've been pimping the DS around here alot lately but this does deserve its own mention as it looks to be a really innovative evolution in adventure gaming.

Take a look at this video

I won't say anything more because I want to see what other people actually think about it before i spout my rabid fanboy opinions  ;D

Secondly is the Sequel to whats been billed as the best adventure game in recent memory (The Longest Journey), Dreamfall.

Having only just got onto chapter 3 of TLJ I'm not quite as eager for this to come out as some others around here (heh Cesar I know is a huge fan) but what is quite interesting with the sequel is that they've gone down the Action Adventure route.

Hey wait, dont go! Carry on reading! ;p

I know this really didn't work for KQ but that was because it was trying to be something it wasn't. Having read a recent feature on Dreamfall in Edge it's sounding really quite special. Here's a quick excerpt:

(Italics are my additions so you know wtf is going on lol)

Quote...This takes Zoe to JIVA, a biotechnology company, and her encounter with a nervy rude receptionist begins to map out how a 'true' action-adventure actually plays.

Fobbed off by the jittery woman you (and Zoe) start to become suspicious. Suddenly, the screen that dominates the foyer blooms into life, showing a terrified woman, screaming silently and desperately into a CCTV lens. It's a bizzare, shocking moment. The receptionist remains oblivious to the screen behind her; you struggle to make sense of the distressing image. Whatever is happening is clearly happening now, and it's clearly happening here. And now you face your first choice.

If you're a careful player, you've taken the chance to scope out the room and spotted a nearby storage cupboard. A little resourceful wheedling cons the receptionist into checking in the cupboard for your package, giving you the chance to lock her inside and set off in search of the screaming woman.

Less careful players?

"You're going to have to fight this woman and take her out" Says Tornquist (The developer). There's a pause. What? It's hard to explain how unusual this proposition is. In a few short minutes, New Casablanca (where the game takes place) has lulled us into such a sense of normality that the thought of walking into an office and clocking out the receptionist is profoundly absurd, screaming woman or no.

So, its a game of choice...quite a positive evolution in my opinion. Anyway, discuss and stuff!
