I need some help on a school project.

You see i have to find 5 topics and make an article about them. Now i only have 3 articles left and i need help picking them. Does any one know any thing important in the news that happend in the 1980's

On November 9th, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell down. (Probably the biggest news story of the 80's)

Hard to believe that things that happened 20 or less years ago (stuff that I either remember or happened when I was young) are considered, not just history, but some of today's teenagers have no clue that the stuff happened.
