the Name Change

I've heard that the team is changing the name to KQIX to avoid copyright issues...I have some questions about this:

1) Is this the way the name is going to appear in the game, like when the game begins it will be KQ9 instead of King's Quest IX?

2) If you do not face any issues from Sierra, are you going to change it back?

3)  I am not being antagonistic, just expressing my view point , but how are new fans going to hear of this game?

Well, I don't know the answers of the first two, but for the third question, I know that I know the games by their Roman numerals, as do many of the fans. Since KQIX is the same as saying KQ9, I doubt there will be many problems. And, since the phrase "KQ9" is still out there, if a person is searching for the game, they shouldn't ave any trouble finding the link to the game, once it comes out that is.

Yup.  We actually still own the domain kq9.org, it just redirects to tsl-game.com.   Google has already updated its listing of us to this new domain, so I'm sure the rest will follow shortly.

1. In the game, the logo will appear like it is on our site: KQIX.  There is still a folder called "kq9" but since there is quite a lot of code that uses absolute paths instead of relative, I'll probably just leave it like that.

2. Nope. KQIX Forever!   Well, if Vivendi gives us official permission to make this game the 9th in the series, then maybe we'll change it back.

3. Same way as before: marketing & promotion.

I thought you were going to start calling KQIX Every Cloak has a Silver Lining. It's  a lot easier and shorter to call it KQIX.

Any plans to change the KQIX.com domain name as a result of your agreement with Vivendi? Even if not stipulated directly, it would be a good show of respect in keeping with their request to remove the direct association of Silver Lining as the ninth game in the series. I have no doubt Vivendi will watch to see how successful your project turns out to be, as they already must have been impressed by the outpouring from thousands of fans, so please them now, and you may be very pleased later.

I like the name The Silver Lining. It fits the project well. I hope Vivendi won't give you all any more problems.
