Yeah, a few sites were saying they would be released around the end of March, but then they all got pushed to December.  My guess is that Target just forgot to update their page. ::)

It's the best place in the world to be, unless you managed to "withdraw" and got to experience TSL first-hand  ;D :P

Wow. Walmart now has June 1st, 2006! Here's the link: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4307237

I can't believe this at all! I'll check some other sites, and edit this post if any new developments come up!

It makes one wonder if Shadows or the King's Quest Compilation will be released first.  Imagine, if VU wants to release them at the same time or decides to include Shadows in the Compilation and not have it available on-line for free download --- wouldn't that throw a monkey wrench into things

I think it could make things easier, for me at least. It would mean that I only have to wait for my compilations to arrive, and then install them, while you all  :suffer: waiting for them! No offense! And of course, I'm kidding! ;)

Does anyone know whether it will be the same as the Roberta Williams Anthology or will it have more or less stuff.

What did the Roberta Williams Anthology have in it? I never bought it, so I wouldn't know...  :'(

thanks Cedric.......

Oh. Well this can't have that, can it? It's a compilation of each game separatly, not a whole series of games mixed in. I think.

I would hope/think so!   :)

EDIT- I am not double posting, for the better, but I have been to target and get this! They have no record of the Compilations! Walmart is still at 6/01/06...

I think I'll have to contact the company again! Where is the guy everyone wrote to about the shut down? I need his address!

EDIT 2- I was just at CD universe, and they list it as Sunday, June 4th, 2006! It also claims that there is one disc! AND, Leisure Suit Larry Cocoa Butter is set for December 28th, 2006 on the Xbox! That's all I can get for now!

Amazon.com is showing 12-31-06.

I was signed up to get it from Wal-Mart until they changed the date from
3-19-06 to 6-1-06.

I think now I'll just waint until one of the sites shows "Now Available"
instead of "Comming Soon!"

Hope they don't sell out before I get my copy! lol  :suffer: :suffer: :suffer:

June??  Well, that's a new one. ::)

I am absolutely thrilled that it is coming that a compilation is coming out for XP.

To be able to play the King's Quest Collection 2 Set that I bought several years ago, I had to dual-boot my PC, re-install tons of software, have three partitions for the different OS, and lost data. I was finally able to play King's Quest 1-4, 6 but 5 and 7 are STILL inoperable.

well I have read this entire thread from inception to end and I have thoroughly enjoyed the chronology of the conversation.  I would like to throw in my theory about these events.

I believe that these compilations are real. They are more than likely continuing to push these back to include the entire series of KQIX into this compilation.  This was more than likely one of the stipulations that Vivendi had to allow TSL continue to completion.  With the inclusion of the new KQIX, they may be betting this will bolster sales for the collection.  (Similar to way that DVD's have an increase in sales as a new installment in the series is released.  People love reliving the previous parts of a series before they watch the newest installment).  The fact that Vivendi does not have to pay anything for the creation of KQIX, this may explain why the compilation is so cheap (However this does not explain the thus far undecided point on whether the previous games have been reprogrammed to work smoothly on XP, emphasis on the smoothly).

These are just the thoughts of a lowly KQ fan.  Take them or leave them.

I would be willing to buy this new compilation based solely on the fact that these games will be able to work easily on XP.  I do not need all the extra stuff, or even TSL as it will be coming out for free (eventually......  I say take your time creating this game as it is time well spent).  I currently own the Roberta Williams anthology which I believe is bar none the best compilation thus far that has come out for these games.  It includes everything Roberta Williams had ever done up to that point.  So therefore I wouldn't need any extras, just the KQ games to work for me!!!!

I've done longer! That was good! I think you're right on both aspects! There is a reason they're delaying them. Some say that they are backwords engineering them. I'm not so sure about this. But we will see at some point. Check my other posts, and you'll see it's not a new one Yonkey! I posted june before!  :( No one pays attention to my posts...   :(

I'm more likely to believe the December date than any of the June ones, but then again, they could just as easily push the Dec one into next year. ::)
