wow, now THAT is an interesting subject

you know whats also interesting akril? the colors symbolism too.

You guys knew that in japan the white means the color of dead? as this a lot of other colors does as it goes in the culture in diff countries. Not that this actually relates somehow with KQ heh, just felt like sharing   ;D

True, true, I know that too. I have a whole list of which colors are associated with death and mourning according to which country. I'm sure I could make a list of how certain colors related to KQ if I felt like it.

yay, would it be too much to ask for to share that with me here??  ;D

I sooo love all this you know? all this kind of meaning on things and stuff, it certainly gives everything a different look or perspective :)

Well, okay, since you asked, I'll tell:

White is associated with innocence and modesty, linked with the moon. Rosella wears white in KQ 3 and 4.

Black is associated with evil and death. Nearly all of the villains in KQ wear mostly black. Black cats are considered unlucky in the USA and several other countries, but are lucky in several European countries (and KQ7. Must be the lucky influence of the number).

Green is associated with nature as well as the unpredictability of nature and the supernatural. Valanice, who, according to the KQ novels, grew up among supernatural beings, wears green in the fairyland of KQ7 (green is also considered unlucky when it is worn. Maybe that's why some people dislike her). Alexander also wore mostly green in KQ6...and his life hasn't exactly been lucky so far...maybe if he hadn't worn that outfit, maybe his ship wouldn't have crashed?

Red is a primal color, associated with passion and wealth, linked to the planet Mars (I wonder why?). It is an almost "determined" color. Graham wears red in his three quests, and Rosella wears red on her first quest.

Blue is a lucky color representing truth and creative power. It is also linked with the planet Venus. Rosella wears blue in her second quest.

Orange, halfway between red and yellow, represents, health, vigor and intelligence, and is linked with the sun. Edgar wears mostly orange in KQ7.

Pink is a muted shade of red, and is associated with sensuality and modesty and is a very feminine color. Cassima wears pink in KQ6. And I don't want to call that tunic that Alex wears in KQ3 and 4 pink, so please put whatever thoughts that have suddenly entered your mind about him aside. Thank you

Purple is a symbol of power and linked with Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system. It is associated with majesty and wisdom as well. (Hmm, I wonder why Valanice wears purple in the five quests she's appeared in and her husband doesn't wear a trace of it...?)

Yellow is often associated with cowardice and a benign nature, and sometimes even betrayal. All of the KQ protagonists wear very little, if any, yellow at all. Surprise.

Thats cool Akril, neet stuff to read about.  :D

But Graham did have a lot of yellow involved with him since his skin color WAS yellow in KQ1, KQ2 and even KQ3.  From KQ4 and on Sierra started using the "normal" skin palette for him.

wow akril this is an intersting topic, are you into philiosophy at all?
I love symbolism in poems and novels that when you read the book again you sort of see them and thin "oh wow that means somethign!" hehe

Well, I'm not really sure what you mean by philosophy. I pride myself in knowing a lot about obscure topics, but I do tend to delve into symbolism whenever I'm writing or creating something. Thanks for the compliment.
