I have to say:
I've been struggling to deal with several issues the past several months. Usually I manage to avoid thinking about them, but occasionally, like last Friday, I break down. But you're right; I've been very fortunate to never have had real depression and I probably shouldn't call it depression.
I doubt that. Different things can be perceived differently by other people. We may see your problems as minor, but to you they can be major enough to cause depression. So I'd say it's depression, especially if you think it is. I usually push the problems aside then all of a sudden I can't push them away anymore and I'm depressed for weeks, possibly months. :-\

There are multiple kinds of depression. There is reactive depression, which is shorter, but still depression. And...I can't remember the other ones. :P There are also just times that you end up with a mental breakdown. Basically, I agree with Jason. If it's really bothering you and affecting you, then it's depression.  Thankfully, Tess, you're feeling better. :D
