You have to remember there’s a lot of difference between books and scripts. Some things in the book just wouldn’t have worked in the film or would have detracted from what the director was going for. I'm glad that SPEW and a few of the other things were left out as they really would of added unnecessary length to what i thought was just the right amount of time for the film.

And as far as LoTR goes LOL there’s a lot more been left out of those films than has been left out of Harry Potter.

Well no one complains about LOTR, so HP being 4 to 6 hours long wouldn't matter too much

Actually, my brother often complains about LOTR.

He doesn’t seem to understand that when adapting a book into a film (especially a book as huge as LOTR) you have to make sacrifices.

They are rather long aren’t they.....but I'm one of the silly fans who would've been perfectly happy if they were an additional three hours long each.

Same here, especially the first one. I wanted it to stay in the shire/shire area for a little while longer than it did.

I really liked HP4 definitely one of the best in my opinion. They changed a fair bit around but it still worked very well
