Hi

Ok...I didn't know where exactly to put this topic, but I figured it's general enough for the General Section =P
Anyway...I know a lot of focus is going into the plot and whatnot...But what about the environment? I mean, is the game going to feel like a Medieval Fantasy world? Will we see a lot more middle ages type stuff that wasn't seen in previous KQs? A last question: Will we learn about the History of Daventry and Graham, and will by the time we complete the game, know everything there is to know about Daventry?

Yonkey

I would say yes to pretty much all the questions. :) I'm not sure if you'll know everything there is to know about Daventry, but you'll definitely get to experience a lot.  8)

Hi DMD,

There is a lot which cannot be disclosed about the game yet, but we released some screenshots showing what the style will be like and a trailer showing off some action. :)

If you have already seen this material, then I am not sure your questions can be answered (yet).. but perhaps someone with more info will come along and give their two cents ;)

and lol @ Neil for responding a minute before me.. XD

From what we've all seen from the game so far, I can guess tha the game will lean more toward a fantasy setting rather than a medival setting.  What do all you people think?

The real medeival world sucks. The law of the land was very unfair, the class system controled people lives and most people were unfree serfs or slavea. Children died a lot from simple diseases we know have the cure for. If I had lived back then I would either die at birth, die from chicken pox or the flu, or die when my appendix burst at age 13. If by some miracle I survived, I could have gotten burnt at the stake as a witch for having unusual, independent ideas or for my creative stories and love of dragons and other fantasy creatures. I prefer a fantasy world with better morals and justice than they had in the real middle ages. If the people wore medeival style clothing, that's a plus. In some fantasy epics ther are scantilly clad people, both men and women, for the purpose of making the story/game sexy and for gaining interest. Like in comic books like Conan the barbarian. Daventry is medeival, but it is also progressive and modern, with the idea of democracy, by Graham becoming king by virtue of his good deeds, and a bit of feminism in KQ7. I love king's quest, I love Daventry.

Thanks, Erik! I love Darkwing Duck cartoons, they were one of my favorite after school cartoons when I was a kid. Ever heard of a Disney cartoons series called Gargyoles? I like it becasue it has  a lot of Celtic mythology and mythology from different countries in it. I like mythology.
