Who among you were those who originally claimed that KQ3 was not a real King's Quest because it did not revolve around King Graham but instead a young slave boy named Gwydion?  Come on don't be shy.  I know there are quite a number of you.

Well for those who started playing KQ3 when it first came out, there was no real way of knowing what the ending had in story for them.  This was before Sierra began releasing hint books which meant that it was only discovered months later so Sierra has said.  Personally I  was surprised when I loaded the game and I wasn't controlling Graham (Guess I didn't read the back of the box too well but hey I was just a kid  ;) ).

I think KQ8 also fell to the problem as KQ3, the hero was not related to the KQ royal family but this time around there was no surprise ending.

I also thought the ending of Mask of Eternity was not all the impressive.  After playing the game for so long, and killing everything on the maps, I really was expecting something more incredible.  Atleast it left it wide open for us to incoporate it into KQ9.
