With current trends in mind, do you think that the Adventure genre will get a revival?

I think it will, there's a potentially huge market for it! :)

Isn't the Adventure genre already being revived? ???

No, I don't think the game companies realize the potential... :(

All things considered, do you think the genre will get a revival?

I don't think game companies realize the potential, but if they did, that would be AWESOME. XD

I agree with Rosella, it probably won't happen but it would be wonderful if it did.

I don't see adventure games returning to their 'former glory'
(at least, not in terms of market share) any time soon... :-\
There might be some rise in popularity, but adventures games would probably still remain a niche genre, with a few new titles released every year and an active fan community 8)

people like blood and gore.  adventure games don't give that.  it would be nice to see the adventure genre getting resurected though.

It seems like if it isn't a first-person-shooter, or something along similar lines, the gaming companies aren't really interested anymore. :-\

I'm not sure about the genre getting a revival but I'm sure that there will always be a place in the community for adventure games. They are the games that will never die!

Yes, but that is an older game, it came out in '96 I think.
Now days, it just doesn't seem like there is much demand for the Adventure Genre.
Besides, games like this, a lot of people don't consider a true adventure game, they often view it in a similar light as the Myst games. Which in my humble opinion are some of the best games I've played, but they don't seem to be seen as 'true adventures' .

unfortunately the world does not realize the value of the adventure game genre.  They would much prefer to spend their time with games of much less value.

I'm personally sick of First Person Shooters, but yeah the market leads towards them these days.

I would love to see the revival of Adventure games. Although they probably wouldn't have the quality of the old Adventure games. :-\

The sad thing is, with today's technology, adventure games have the capibility to be WAY better than games of the past. It's just that they aren't. :P

I mean, POS, a team with immeasurable talent, but a limited budget, can make TSL, so imagine what a full-budget game company could do!

One of my favourite Adventure games is a fairly modern one(Shadow of Destiny), so I wouldn't say that. Although I do doubt they would be of a similar style, for the most part.

Sorry, what I meant was more like if Adventure games became mainstream again, all the smaller companies that make the quality games would be pushed aside. The money hungry companies would be creating Adventure games and they would probably all be of low quality.
