Well, I'm finally working on my KQ website and I'm trying to write a history/overview of TSL. Does anyone have ideas for certain dates/events that should be put in? The year the idea was born (the first concept with the light blue website layout :P,) the date Cesar became the main director/coordinator/dude, and any other ideas/dates would be really helpful!

There are some dates on the To Our Fans page.  Unfortunately, I have no idea what the light blue site even looked like, let alone its creation date. :P

The team started back in 2000 with 5 or so individuals among them were Luke Jensen and Jonathan Haling (I believe, I don't really remember right now) anyhow, the team got started in Yahoo Groups, eventually they got a website out, but the website didn't have much to show cuz they were just starting out. Eventually at the end of 2001 Cesar who was just a writer way back then, didn't feel quite alright with the management due to they had like a year or more and they had achieved only TWO chapters in all that time. Cesar took over at beggining of 2002, and since then he started to organize it by teams, assinging each one of the members responsabilities according to their input and skills. Richard Flores became ever since then, Art Director till nowadays.

Way back then, it was a small team and Cesar went on hiring, during that process he hired me, eventually he hired Michael Fortunato, Alex Saunders, Petter Holmberg, Katie Hallahan and so it went. And eventually we hired one of the most loved members now, Allert Van Der Leij and Neil Rodriguez and many others.

The team has been seriously functioning (sp?) since 2002, it has had a lot of re-structuring ever since. We work as a non-profit project that means every single penny that we have ever needed has come from our pocket. We're the most popular indie developers in adventure field hence we've appeared on Computer Gaming World, Edge Magazine, 1UP, IGN, Gamespy, Mtv and many other places.

Important dates are:
- May 15th - KQIX/TSL website birthday.
- January 2004 - POS was born (I'm not sure if it was in Jan 2004, but according to Ces it's 2004 for sure)
- September 30th 2005 - VU shut us down.
- November 29th 2005- VU agrees to let us continue under license. (edited now)
- December 30th 2005 -  We started legal approach with license.

And for further personal information, feel free to check the team page. It tells more info about each member. :)

Oh and about the website, I believe it was Rich and Jonathan who were working on it, no idea who designed it. And it was working by end of 2001 beggining of 2002, I believe. So, you could say they finished the site way back then at the beggining of 2002.

well, by 2001 they hadn't written only two chapters. More like none. The chapter that had more progress was mine, which was Dreamworld.

and the day we got news of the license was nov 29th, not the 28th :)

My birthday. How could I forget :D

Was that the purple one or the light blue one? ???

the purple site was designed by Justin Gosine and modified by Rich.

and just for the record... I think the "blue" site was something a girl did (I forgot her name? Cesar must remember) and it was a small site of like 5 links or something, plus a bulletin :)

Wow, I didn't even remember about that one :D (that one is previous to the purple one!)

Try http://web.archive.org/ for pages from the old site. You won't be able to get the front page because of a file called robots.txt that was part of the web site, but you can access other pages, such as those from the library. You can access most of the pages (some of the graphics are gone, though), including Four Winds. ;)

The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

You do realize that the Library is still available on this site, right? :P

Yeah, but I thought that she might want to check out the old look. ::) Thanks anyway, Neil. ;)
