i think it should be alex AND cassima like they did in KQ7. just a thought! oh ya! JOLLO SHOULD COME BACK!

Eh, but a link in the bloodline would really defeat much of what was cool about KQ1 from my point of view. What I liked was the whole democratic fairy-tale ideal of an ordinary guy who can rise to the position of king armed with solely his intellect.

Although, who could resist the opportunity to write "King's Quest: Episode One," complete with graphics and special effects of a quality far beyond those games it's intended to be preceding?

Penner Theologius Pott

I dunno. I'd prefer to see the series end on a high note than drift on into mediocrity, like so many good sequels.

I think it should be Captain Saladin. He's not human, so there's more novelty in using him, and he's also a good fighter. That could open doors for some good action scenes. Besides, he could move up to a greater role anyway.

Yes, it is true that King Edward is dead, however, the person that posted that message DID clearly state that he was referring to the idea of a prequel, not a sequel. A prequel means a game that comes before all the others in the series. In other words, a game before King´s Quest 1, giving us background on the story of daventry.
As for using Captain Saladin... I suppose that would be interesting, but I don´t think that they're including action in the game, at least not in the same form as it was in KQ VIII. However, I still would prefer a member of the original Royal Family of Daventry. Call me a traditionalist. Just my opinion though.

Well, like I said it could open doors. There were a few action scenes in VI, but they could still be kept to a minimum and work okay. I think there ought to be at least one in the game, at the very end.

Saladin still seemed pretty intelligent and cultured though. He'd fare pretty well in a strict puzzle-solving environment too.

Masters In Quest

I agree i think it should end with  HereKings Quest X: Insert Title I hate the fact that it's Nine and not Ten but thatwon't stop me from playing it. lol Maybe there will be some tea left in the pot for another cup, did that make since? Maybe there will be some KQ left to make ten. There thats better. Well thats what i think. Please respond

I think you are refering to Lolotte not Malicia.  Malicia is not dead, she was turned into a baby at the end of KQ7.

As for KQ finishing on an even number like 10, I think 9 is much more symbolic.  It is a multiple of 3 and everything comes in 3s.  Besides nothing is preventing us from making a tenth installment afterwards.  KQ9 will simply close the story arc that had been building since KQ1, to keep going we'll just have to create a new story arc.

In fact on the www.hero6.com site there was talk about making a tenth installment to the series that would pickup the story with Graham's grandchildren.  I don't know if this project has continued to develop but you can find out more by reading this thread :

I've only played KQ7, but that was a long time ago....I nearly forgot Malicia was turned into a baby. I loved her twisted evil side. If Rosella could somehow inherit that evil side....maybe Rosella could kill off Connor......you guys need to bring back the Fates, too! I loved KQ7 for the mythological allusions....

Why shouldn't Graham and Valanice have another child? if you look in the bible, Abraham had his first son when he and his wife were well into retirement.
On a less religious and geriatricly-parental note, maybe they had another child not long after Rosella and Alex where born? (now I'll have to check all the games and see if they negate another child  ::)).
Of course, if there is another previously-unmentioned child, we'll have to explain why he wasn't on KQ5 and 6 with the rest of the royal family...
Let's see... maybe he/she was sent away to... a far away land to... study something or... to hide from a dark prophecy related to...
(to be continued...)  ;D :D ;D

That would be a great solution - Rosella could marry Edgar and rule Etheria, and the missing heir could stay and rule Daventry (and marry a commoner or something, so we wouldn't get the annoying "who stays where" problem again  ;D).
