to clarify that a bit more, no, it's not new lands in already existing Kingdoms. Just new lands. Let's say I rather call them lands than Kingdoms

TO answer to the second question: No, no new romances

TO answer to the other question, no, the books won't be much involved in the storyline. We've gathered a few interesting facts from them tho.

OK. I can keep speculating all day long here.
Will the KQ9 plot will be in accordance with the plot of Tierra's newly-released KQ2 remake? (if you played it you probably know what I mean)

No.

They actually are quite different and they hold different perspectives on the same issues.

We tried contacting the Tierra team to see if we could share storylines fearing that this might had happen. They decided to keep their plot secret (totally understandable since it's such a good plot).

Our storyline, as I said, gives a meaning to every little thing going on in the King's Quest world and beyond. It differs from some of the stuff Tierra explored.

I wouldn't be surprised if the guys at Tierra were making their own King's Quest 9. After all they left a lot of room opened to a sequel and as I understand they want to expand on their storyline (here's hoping they do!)
