Athena's still my fav. after her, probably Aphrodite, then Persephone. And I think you're right about there being both an Isis and Iris.

Hades has a cool name (god of the underworld). But he's the loser of the gods.
Ares is cool too (god of war, believe there is another name for him too).

Ares has a Roman name (Mars,) but that's just about it.

Iris is a messenger of Hera in Greek mythology

Isis is in Egyptian mythology.

I don't like Aphrodite too much. She is often thought of as the goddess of love, but it's more, erm, physical love. Eros is the god of romance though. Persephone is awesome and I don't know why I relate to her (I don't think I was taken away from my land of pretty flowers to live in any deep dark place,) but I do.

I know Isis is egyptian mythology . Aphrodite is both the goddess of Beauty and Love. I didn't know who Iris was, but I'd heard of her before. You should really read "Venus and Adonis" (William Shakespeare), I think there's a modern English version as well, but I prefer the elde one.

well; hades loste the game of dice but it was differend

there were tree realms to divide

supreme god
god of war
and  god of the underworld (less favorit)

zeus won, ares  second and hades was the loser

No, the three realms were the Earth, the sea, and the Underworld. Zeus got the Earth, Posidon, the sea, and Hades, the underworld.

Yes she prophecies his death (by boar) if he doesn't stay with her, he leaves, he dies, and she gives him to Persephone. But Persephone was also in love with him, so she and Aphrodite fight until Zeus declares that Adonis should stay in the underworld (with Persephone) for half the year, and the other half of the year, he would be with Aphrodite.

Anyway, as I've already stated I really like the Athena/Arachne theory

oke here a new short story to revive that thread:

once (I believe it was just before the medieval age) there was a gang criminals.
They where called de bokkenrijders (translated the goat riders)
this was one of the most evil gangs there was.

one day the group leaded by Hugo van de Loonse Duinen went home after a huge robbery. They had a great loot. Just when night fell they passed a little church. The robbers went in to see if the could get a bigger loot. In the church they saw golden goblets and more wealth.

Suddenly there was a lady in front of Hugo telling him not to steal anything. He didn't listen and pushed her aside.

Later when he arrived at home he saw the same lady standing on the top of his house. She told him that he would never find rest anymore in his house. inside the house all started to rotate and soon all was upsidedown.
Only the one whit a pure heart can lift the curse called upon Hugo.

Friday I go to an amusementspark where the house is still standing. I will try if I can lift that curse
